Past referral credits reversed.... not fair!
« on: July 04, 2013, 12:47:05 pm »
I cashed on last Sunday for the 2nd time, but the next day the cashout amount had been reduced by $4!

Taking a look, I noticed that the credits reversed (denied) had been a $1 for recent signup as well as $3 referral from 4 months ago:

Referral Bonus: Regalwolf    2013-06-16    $1.00    Denied

Offer Completion Bonus: velazkid    2013-03-01    $2.00    Denied
Referral Bonus: velazkid    2013-03-01    $1.00    Denied

I realized these must have been denied because, as it turns out, these were 2 of my nephews and they live at the same address. But, I had sent out links and banners to tons of people I know that I thought might be interested. One of the nephews started up in March and then quickly gave up on it. The other got interested more recently and signed up.
My point is this, I can see why the newer referral would be denied as there was already an account at that address... but why would that invalidate credits that had been earned 4 months earlier that were perfectly valid at the time???
 :BangHead: :bs: :angry7:
FC provides banners and such and I do make use of them, posting them every where I can on the Internet... but we have no control over who signs up from our link... and I don't think we should be penalized if two people from the same address happen to join up! Invalidate the newer account, yes... but don't go back in time and make something invalid that wasn't at the time!

I agree that when you post the banners in the hopes of getting referrals, you can't guarantee that the people who accept will comply with the rules.

But when they don't comply with the rules, it seems quite fair, imho, that any credits generated by the rule breakers should be reversed -- and that would include not only the credits in their accounts but also those referral bonuses generated for the person who referred them to FC.

I see your point, but it is the right and fair thing to do.  Also remember FC gets paid by advertisers to complete offers and since they did not follow the rules than they are considered to be cheating.  Even if they didn't do it intentionally, whose to say others won't.

Thanks for the responses, but I think my point was missed...

the credits from 4 moths ago hadn't violated any rule at that time. As I said, I can see FC's need to deny any credits once they see something that MIGHT be "cheating" (or even just inadvertently not following the rules)... but that situation did not exist 4 months ago when those credits were earned.

It's a little bit like a teacher believing that you may have cheated on your last test and therefore changing the grade on all your previous tests.

Again, in this case it was only $3 worth of older credits that were lost... but I could see the possibility of much more if the first referral had a year or so worth of credits built up. Then someone else maybe signs up from that household (at no fault of your own) and you sudden lose a year's worth of referral credits!?!? I could even see that maybe causing your balance to go negative... that's when me and FC would be parting ways....  :angry7:

Maybe you could open a ticket and ask the questions to admin, I am sure they would be happy to explain it to you, the times I had any they were great in answering my questions. Just a suggestion for you. Good Luck.

The easiest solution is not to send to the same house and that should solve your problem.

I know my daughter would love to do this but she cannot because she lives with me.  However, there are sites that she does, like freebees and I cannot because she already belongs.  They have to do something to stop the cheaters.  God Bless

It's really not fair, but there's really nothing that FC could do without leaving themselves open to cheaters.  I do sorta wish they would let the referrer keep the credit despite the referee cheating, since there's no way I can prevent my referrees from cheating, but that could lead to a completely different issue.  Consider talking to support to see if maybe they can solve it somehow.  Perhaps let them cancel the first account and let your other nephew's account be good.

Had it happen to me too once but I didn't know who the referral was or why the credit got cancelled.

At the bottom of your account page, THE VERY BOTTOM, there is a link for your referrals (below the list of all your completed tasks).  It should look something like http://www. fusioncash.net/?ref=YOURUSERNAME......

Also, if you get paid, your check has an even shorter URL.

I am wondering if this will happen to me since one of my referrals boyfriends decided to sign up too and he didn't know the rules so since he plans on moving in with her in the next year, used her address.  She didn't know, he didn't know any better.  It stinks.  I would hope that FC would be able to decipher between the ones abusing the site and those that truly have honest issues, but that could take far more work than they should be required to do to find out the truth, if they ever can.  I don't know if my referral has been completely deterred, which worries me that if support contacted her back and she isn't signing in due to being temporarily suspended, if she will ever come back with the same vim and vigor.  She was doing so well and made over her cash out.

I do find it unfair that after months, a credit can be revoked.  But at the same time, it usually doesn't have much to do with 3rd party FC.  In this scenario it does, but how to they separate what is on them and what isn't?  Oh the philosophical side of FC!  hahaha
