Free College
« on: July 03, 2013, 03:08:13 am »
I was just in a GREAT thread about procrastination and came across a fellow member who understandably and unfortunately had to put off her college plans due to using the money she had saved up to care for an ill child- don't moms rock?!. I took a few moments to look up free colleges and wanted to share this info with you all.  I wish I'd come across this info while I was in high school, but it's very fortunate that I'm now aware that there is such a thing as free college now because I have a daughter entering high school in a few months. Technology is wonderful!

There's also Job Corps (which some employers look specifically for graduates of).

Hope this helps someone! :)

Every little bit helps, especially for new high school graduates or those going back to college, now that the interest rate on loans has gone up.

I feel so horrible for anyone starting college right now, with how expensive it is.

You're right; college is ridiculously expensive, especially considering there's no guaranteed ROI.  But I'm a big believer in not only formal but also self education so resources like these help a lot.

The closest college to me offered a select few of their students a free ride. Unfortunately, it was just a onetime thing. Dang it! This was definitely good info though.

Sorry to say - have you ever been to college?  A collage is, for instance, a group of pictures put together in one big frame or on a large piece of cardboard.
