Yes absolutely. The only opposition always seems to stem from religious groups. God this God that. Who cares? There is supposed to be separation of church and state! You can't sit here and say people should be able to do what they want, and then turn around and say they shouldn't have equal rights. If you're going to have bigoted views, take the title too.

Anyway, gay marriage is just one issue. I wish it got less attention than bullying, suicide rates, and rates of homelessness among gay lesbian bisexual and transgender people.

I shouldn't have answered. Man this topic gets me so annoyed.
The Bible says women shouldn't speak in church.
The Bible says if a man rapes a woman he has to give the father money. Real nice, God says pimp your raped daughters out.
The Bible says God sent bears to maul a group of children.
The Bible says we're not meant to eat crustaceans, get tattoos, so on.
Let's go ahead and put these things into law while we're at it.

;D Same sex marriage do not bother me because there is someone out there to love for everyone.  How we as people are going to judge, there are so many men that or married and undercover.  But it is okay for females to so be seen having sex.  My thing is to each is own; we are not suppose to judge that is for GOD to do, they still people. :peace: :star:

I don't believe in gay marriage at all!  My granddaughter was going to a daycare center that she did not like because they were always losing teachers and then we found out the adm. daughter was a lesbian and would bring her girlfriend to the daycare center to interact with the children there.  We were outraged!  If we want our children and grandchildren to be exposed to gays, we will but we do not want others to presume we would want that.  We removed my granddaughter from the daycare and left the adm know why.

Bigot. Replace the word 'lesbian' with 'black' and realize how offensive your post is.

I guess my question on this is how does it affect anyone else? So I don't see what the big deal is, they aren't hurting anyone else.  :dontknow:

I don't mind. My own life isn't any different, but I am happy for the people who are impacted by the announcement - one couple in particular who have wished for a more formalized recognition.

I say good for them, they deserve it all the papers and benefits.

Its also just ironic how historically being homosexual was okay so very long ago. Times change indeed.

How do you feel about the gay marriage act? do you believe that gay couples should have the same benefits of heterosexual couples?
Kinda hard to diferentiate between American legislation and the morality of gay marriages. Although I`m not in fear of the same demise as Sodom and Gemorrah because there are many more than 5 or 10 folks that are as righteous as possible in our country today. The reason the 2 biblical communities were destroyed was clearly because of homosexual activity. The scripture is clear, Lot offered his 2 virgin daughters to the the townsmen to prevent them from trying to rape the visitors (angels). However, this republic of the United States, although founded in a Christian mindset and being a nation onder God, is now considered a democracy, which by definition, is doomed to fail because it protects and encourages all freedoms. Kind of a sticky situation, the 2 biblical cities were destroyed because of the tolerance of a sin so abominable to God, there was no other way to display His displeasure. then we have a free country that protects most freedoms and I guess this includes the freedom to express all sexual preferences. The real problem from a financial standpoint is that the Social Security Trust Fund cannot handle the extra burden of spouses of deceist partners collecting benefits and our completely incompetent IRS agency will not be able to handle the refund explosion that will happen when the tax code includes same sex marriages!

I believe that gay couples should have the same rights, benefits, and privileges as heterosexual couples.  I was actually pretty unhappy about the Supreme Court decision.  I feel SCOTUS didn't take it far enough - they should have come out and declared same sex marriage a constitutional right.
