I also am in the category that does not spend money on makeup.  Natural is the way to go for me.  I am the way God made me and makeup doesn't change that.

It depends on how they use it....thick, heavy make up is gross to me! Foundation that is flaky or thick and fake~GROSS!  I like a more natural look and a little to enhance is so lovely!

I think a lot of women look beautiful without any makeup.

Interesting question - I wonder if the op is a man? ::)

Anyhow, I say both. I was a make-up freak when I was younger because I wanted to enhance my natural beauty i.e. cover up the imperfections. Nowadays, I'm make up free most days unless I'm going out somewhere special. My skin looks healthy and clear and I can work on improving my skin instead of relying on makeup to just cover the imperfections. Just my take on it all.

I hardly wear makeup anymore. In high school I wore a concealer because I easily got embarrassed and my cheeks would turn bright red. The make up helped me feel like I wasn't so easy to read all the time. I think it can be used for either purpose.

I think make up can be a confidence-builder, especially for women/girls with compromised self-images (which most people experience at some point in their lives).  A person just naturally feels better about herself when she looks her best (or thinks she looks her best).  For some it may mean no cosmetics while for others it may be the other end of the spectrum.  Personally, I think magazine ads push overkill on the make-up and a lot of females buy into whatever the current look is touted as being "in."  But the bottom line is, there are enough things out there to crush a person's spirit and as far as make up is concerned women should do whatever helps them feel good about themselves.

Makeup makes a huge difference in the way I look.  I don't overdo it but my face looks "weak" without it, for lack of a better term.

I always thought make-up was to enhance a woman's beauty and when that is the goal yes I think it can look nice. Now when women try to transform themselves into a completely different person they usually end up looking worse.

Honestly I prefer the natural look.

it can be worn for different as a skin dermatology make up is the most healthier way to use it properly worn or it can become problem never put makeup on with your hands your hands have oil on them cause acne use brushes for intance put little foundation on back of your hand put brush in and apply and blend to even tone same goes for rest of your makeup except for eye shadow mascara ;)

I wear it to enhance my looks, but not every day and when I do I think less is best I try and keep it as close to my natural look and not over do it.

I think is used for both. Females would use it to enhance their appearance or to cover acne and other imperfections. I think light make up is the way to go though. Caking the face is to dramatic unless there is a show going on. Love your skin.

it really depends.. as a girl my self sometimes it makes not much of a difference or makes them look worse and other times it makes a dramatic impact on how they look.

Personally, I think women wear make up as a coverup. On the other hand some I think use it because they think it makes them prettier. However, Beauty comes from the inside and it will shine through on the outside.
