What is your name for a sandwich? Hoagie, Sub, or Grinder?

We call them a sandwich, unless it's on sub bread then it's a sub.

I'm from Philly and we like to say Hoagies.

I was born and raised in Delaware and we called them Subs. I now live across the river in South Jersey. Unless you call them a hoagie they have no idea what you are talking about. As they say,when in Rome do as the Romans do. We now call them hoagies.

ive always called it a sub. im not used to hearing hoagie until recently so it sounds funny to me. my ex called them grinders and thought that the word sub sounded funny.

In Lousisana we call our sub sandwiches po boys.  We use French bread for the bread part of the sandwich they fill it with things like fried catfish, oyster etc.  They rock.

Anything between bread slices I would call a sandwich.  If it is on a sub roll, it's a sub.

If bread is used, then it is a  sandwich, if a sub roll is used, then it is a sub.

Really kinda depends on the sandwich but for the most part a sandwich is a sandwich to me. I've never heard anyone call a sandwich a grinder though. That's just sounds weird and doesn't make sense to me. Lol I really like sandwiches..... and now I really, really want one.

If you are asking about a sandwich that is on a 6 inch roll or larger, here in MA we call that a grinder or a sub . It all depends on what part of the State you are in.

I'm in Cali so there is all the above, because where I live they have places often named like The grinder spot or something like that. Plus there is so many different sandwich places I hear different names.
