What do you guys think of mystery/secret shoppers?

I think its awesome, but a little skeptical about it. Perhaps because I've never done it before? But I would wanna try it out one day.

I signed up with Bestmark  they offer a lot of secret shopping with cars.like you get an oil change and then tell about the experience and get I believe the cost of the oil change back. another was you go to a car lot and pretend your interested in buying a car you have to get their business card . the thing I don't like is sometimes the places to go are really far away 50-70 miles so I haven't done any yet,but still look at them when they send emails about different jobs.they have some others not with cars like going to a video game store but you have to go with a 14-17 yr old .I's look them up and see if you would like it.

That sounds interesting...I'm skeptic about it too. I work in retail and I've experienced mystery shoppers grading me but I've always wondered how they got that job and when I look it up online it always seems shady...I'll definitely check that site out. I like that your not obligated to do one if you don't want

I have done this with a company called aboutface.  It was legit and I got paid.  The only down fall I had was only having the same cable stores to go in.  You can only show up and act interested once before they wonder what you are doing. Hope this helps

I have never tried it before, I will look in to it before I retire to see if I can earn some extra cash that way.

I've been interested in mystery shopping and have found several sites that offer them but I am skeptical on if they are legit or not. I might actually look into the ones the other posters have mentioned!

I had a friend who did some mystery shopping.  The pay  you get is very little.  Some things only a couple of dollars, some five or more.  You usually have to pay for things first, then submit a receipt, to be reinbursed.  This was a legit company, and it did not seem to be worth the amount of effort she had to put in.
