Life Really Is Short

Ok, good to know that was a joke *sigh of relief* lol    Have you read Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill?  I listened to the complete audio book on YouTube and he provided the most valuable insight on finances, friends, self perception, and life in general.  I took notes on it, I think I'll listen to it again when I take the kids out today.

:- I hope that was a joke...... I hope I never get to that point. I don't think everyone past 70 feels that way.  I'm a "focus on the solution, not the problem" type of person so I'd rather explore ways to make my life exciting again within my means if I ever start feeling like that. It could always be worse 

Wait until you roll past 70 and you will be thinking how much longer is this going to last?

Congratulations for taking control despite unfavorable circumstances!!! Sorry for the loss of your family members.  Completely off topic but, aren't grandmothers the best?!  I have a wonderful one and I'm grateful I've gotten the chance to experience her love, too many children unfortunately never get he opportunity to know what a REAL grandmother is about. I'm sure yours is mighty proud of you!

Life became short for me, I believe, when I turned 30.  My father had died when I was 2 of brain cancer; in fact, men on his side on the family would die unexpectedly at the age of 30 or beyond.  Because of his demise, I feared I would die of the same fate.  I wake up in the morning and thank God I am still here 24 years later, nearing 55 in less than 80 days.  I also lost my grandmother at the age of 31; she was the reason that education became a driving force for me; she lived to be 83 and died 47 days to her 84th birthday (she was born in 1905).  I am destined to believe that God has a greater plan for me.

Your time may not necessarily be that limited; just the other day I was looking at a female bodybuilder nearly 80 years old on YouTube.  You should check her out, I believe her first name is Bernastein or something like that but just type in 76 year old female bodybuilder and as a matter of fact, quite a few will pop up.  The more fearful you are of aging should mean going harder at your health goals.  Old is not the age it used to be, people are doing more for longer and 50 is MUCH too young to be thinking that way- you JUST left your 40s. How does your friend's mom feel about knowing?

Wait until you roll past 70 and you will be thinking how much longer is this going to last? 

I'm turning 50 this year and thinking, "Gee, I might only have 25 years more of life left."  I know, a real bummer thing to think.

I have a friend's mom who's in her early 80s with end-stage emphysema.  Her doctor is giving her 6-12 months left to live.  I''m not sure I'd want to know something like that.  On the other hand, she has a chance to do some things she's always wanted to do if she wants.  Life is really too short!

I like to believe time is going by quicker because it is getting closer to the time for the Lord Jesus Christ to return!

I've heard the expression "life is short" before, but didn't really realize the significance of that statement until after I turned 30.  The days turn into weeks and the weeks into months and before you know it you are one, two, five years out from the day you realized life really is short.

I think always working toward something and having events to look forward to keeps life exciting.  I think back to ten years ago and I'm proud of the progress I've made and the woman I've become, and I hope to be even better 10 years from now.

What are your dreams for your life?  What did you want to accomplish by now that you haven't and what have you done to make sure you have accomplished that goal 5 years from now?

I'm a phenomenal mother (I know it's tacky to compliment yourself but if you knew me you'd agree) and my education/career plans are on hold until I buy my house in February, my body is banging and I've overall happy.  But the one area I'm lacking in is quality friends.  I'm the type of woman that doesn't NEED a bunch of friends but I'd at least like a few power friends that share my aspirations.  I love my friends I have now, but I'd much rather talk about the strategy to achieve our goals rather than talk about what we wanna or are gonna do every single year. 

Life is so short, we have to go after the things we want because before we know it we'll be thinking about all the things we would do differently if we were 25, 35, 45 years old again.

 

since life is so short, live it with no regrets. Enjoy al you can when you can, because before you know it, that time is past. Take pictures and hang on to your memories. One thing my dad said to me about pics was date them. I thought he was crazy, but now I find myself looking at those old pics with no dates and wonder what year was that. Look to the future, but remember your past because it is part of who you are. Not everything should be so serious, Live a Little!

The bible says life is as a vapor and that is so true. It seems like only yesterday that I was child and now I'm grown and wondering where the days went. It seems like the years , months and days are just flying by. The year is half over and it's seems like we had just began it a few days ago for me.

My dreams are be better off financially. We have always struggled in that area and my goal is to have a career that will provide that in the next five years. I'm trying to learn things online and through other avenues that will set me on that course in five years.

I agree life is short, but I also know life is shorter for those of us who have passed the century mark!!!!  When you begin to see those you love and friends you've had cross-over - life gets even shorter in your own eyes!!!!!  As for accomplishments, well there is always something more to accomplish and always something more to achieve no matter what your age!!!!!  I believe people should live their lives to the fullest thereby having no regrets in their later lives!!!!!!!!!!

Life is too short sounds like an old cliche but it is so very true.  The older I get the more I realize it.  I thought too that in my old age I would be wiser but I'm no wiser for the wear and tear.  I still question the whys of life but am probably a bit more relaxed and take things a little less seriously than I did when I was younger.

Life is how long it is - I don't measure it by what I've accomplished or what I've done, but by how I live each day.  Every day is a gift from God and should be treated as such.  That being said, I do hope to be a pastor within the next few years, and continue to bring others closer to God and to live as God would have my live.

tanissmith I think sometimes it's good to take things less serious because what we do on a daily basis is how we're living and we don't want to leave knowing that all we did was worry while we were here.  That's why I've thrown out the philosophy of sacrificing 100% until I reach a goal, I find that rewarding myself keeps me motivated anyway and keeps me enjoying life.
