Can you see yourself paying $20 to $40 for a cronut?

Guys,

I had to see this for myself and it's happening on Craiglist as well as on eBay.  On eBay there was an auction for
12 cronuts and the bid started at $1.99 so far lasttime I checked, the bid was at $20.00. 

I'm wondering how much people are being charged  for two or can you only purchase them from the people that are
willing to deliver them to you by the dozen.

If it's such a demand, it must be worth the time and  effort and
 profit to charge $20.00 for two.

I'm thinking gas, travel time plus your time for standing inline could cost up to $40 bucks, so what do you guys think?

The cronut only cost $5.00.  Maybe I will start a cronut delivery service and advertise on Fusion Cash, who's with
me?

A cronut is doughnut dough mixed with croissant dough if they had a baby, it would be called
a cronut.  So it's soft like a croissant but it looks like a doughnut. 


The problem is people are going wild over them and buying them and selling them at black market prices.

I think it depend. if people go crazy about it and how many is the seller selling, people will bidding for them. First check how many of it? Is that a set? If cronut each cost $5 and the seller selling 10 for low starting price sure people would like to bid on it. You might want to check how much for shipping too. If it free shipping
that one other thing people would like to bid on the items

You are not the only person wanting to know:  "What's a cronut?"  I certainly want to know who would want to spend $20 for an item, whatever it is, that costs $5.00.

I didn't even know what they were until seeing them on Inside edition yesterday. I've heard they are excellent, but I would never pay $20-40 for one. I would be hard pressed to pay $5 which I have heard is being charged for one. I'd rather take my chances and try to make my own before paying $20-40. $40 could pay a bill for me and that would be better use of the money for me.

I love this idea. In our area there is a place called Voodo Dohnuts.  People line up like crazy. They are good, they are expensive, and the hype is what draws people. Like the Maple and Bacon on top. But well I probably can't say it is called Co......k and B.....lls with cream,etc. and the ladies always get this one. But yeah, they have expanded. Yes Downtown Portland Oregon, where there motto is keep Portland Weird. Well Google it.

I had never heard of a cronut before this but I definitely wouldn't pay $20.00 for one. I'm not sure I would even pay $5.00. I don't know how these fads get started but people do seem to do crazy things over fads.

Like others above, I never heard of this "cronut" thing.  Thanks for the explanation.  No way I would pay $20 for them after hearing what it is...or even $5 for that matter.  Definitely a fad.  I'd probably try my hand at making my own for that money vs buying a couple for that price.

This reminds me of the whole Krispy Kreme fanaticism a few years back.  Now they're just "ordinary" like any other doughnut shop.  This phase too will pass...
