Hey guys,

I happen to hear about this on Inside Edition and to be truthful,
I wouldn't wont no one to slap me on my rearend in or out of court.

Chad must have thought that he was still on the football field with his buddies.

I don't think he meant any harm even though it was funny to the courtroo audien
Now it was disprectful to the courtroom and the lawyer who's rearend he slaed but he
wasn't disrespecting and mocking. the judge personally.

The judge was not in a mood to deal with that.  While it was funny to the other people in the courtroom, she found it disrespectful because he did it in the courtroom in her presence.  I think she should lighten up.  If the lawyer was not complaining, she made it into a overblown big deal.  What would she have done if she was on the street and someone walked up and slapped her on her backside?  Maybe that is the problem; she doesn't have a man to give her that attention.  I could have seen her sentencing him to 3 hours, but 30 days?  Judges these days make life comical because they overreact, as she did, and threw out a plea sentence they had already agreed on.  He has to spend 30 days in jail because she has a sour attitude.  Makes you wonder.

I think the judge was having a bad day and took it out on Ocho, but life goes on and he will be ok.

It all comes down to two rules any time you are in a courtroom,

Rule #1: Don't Mess With The Man!
Rule#2 : When in doubt, see Rule #1

Whether or not the lawyer found it wrong it is ridiculous for a grown man to act that way in a court room.  Sometimes people who were never taught how to act in certain settings need to be reminded although I doubt it will do him any good if he didn't learn it by now.

I think the judge was a little harsh.  That's just Chad's way.  I'm from Cincinnati so we know quite a bit about Chad.

Ocho was wrong in his actions, the judge went overboard with the punishment in my opinion. A big fine would have done the same thing, and Ocho is used to being fined! :)

Anyway, Ocho is not likely to spend the full sentence, the judge will probably relent at some point, but in any case, Ocho will not suffer any serious lasting harm over this.

I guess the judge thought it would be a good idea to waste more tax money.

There are so many actual crimes that have less than a 30 day jail sentence so I think it's all ridiculous

In my opinion it was a judge who was trying to maintain order in the court.  Granted that the persons behavior might have been aceptable on a football field.  They were not.  They were in the judges courtroom where it is the responsibility of the judge to maintain order in any way they deem necessary.  In fact I am rather surprised that the judge did not issue a contempt charge which cannot be appealed or overturned except by the judge who issues the contempt order.  But you can bet that all the lawyers who practice in that court took notice and will probably make sure that nobody does anything that will disrupt the court.

I don't know the entire story, just what I heard here, but I think it would depend on what happened before that and something else.  If he had been doing things like that during the trial (or whatever it was) and was told to stop and did it again afterward, then I understand.  However, if he just did that, it's one of the iffy areas where I don't think it really deserves jail time, but obviously he isn't respecting the courtroom, the judge, or the lawyers who are trying to do a job.

If he started messing around on the football field by pushing people or laying on the ground or whatever, no one would put up with it, so I think that's what the judge was doing.

I feel like the judge overreacted.  She was upset because the onlookers laughed.  Then maybe she should have said something to them.  He will only serve 15 days max of that time.  And now he is off the hook for the community service he was to do.  Which would probably have had much more effect on a lot of people.   He is now taking up room that may have been used for someone who really needed to be there, they will be sent home because of overcrowding.  The overreaction made her and so all women look silly.  I think maybe she did not like the plea bargain and saw a way to over ride it.
