Welcome back Oldbuddy ... my wife had her gallbladder removed at half your age ... I have never had gall stones or gallbladder problems but I have had kidney stones which through natural remedies I passed naturally.  Great to have you back as I appreciate your many contributions!

Welcome back Old Buddy.  I hadn't heard you were having surgery so reading that you are back on must mean you are feeling better and ready to move forward.  I'm a firm believer in preventative care...my own Mother could testify to that.  She's had several surgery's and outpatient treatments over the last 10 years that had she gone without them she probably wouldn't be here with us today.  Glad your feeling better.

Thanks, I guess you could say this was preventative, they took my rotten Gallbladder out so they could prevent all the painful attacks I was having. The only problem that came up was they couldn't do it with the little holes they punched through, so they had to slice me open. When you reach your 70's it takes longer to heal I guess.

Glad that you're back and feeling better than you have been.  I know what you're talking about being sliced open.  They had to do the same thing to my husband because when they went in with the laparascope, they found his gall bladder BURST!  Now, he jokes with people about the scar and tells them he was stabbed in Tijuana, LOL!  They give a great, big, GASP and then he laughs and says, "Nah, I'm only kidding, it was gall bladder surgery!"

THAT'S A GOOD ONE!!! I am going to try that next time I go swimming or hot tubbing. I know it sure looks like it.

They tried the easy way with me too, but they said it was just like one big gallstone and all infected, so they pulled out the big knife.
