Has anyone ever played the card game Shanghi (or Shanghai??)

I can remember playing the card game Shanghi with my mother, my sister, and my brother-in-law when I was younger.  I remember that it is a game, I think that was played in like 10 hands before the game ends, and in each hand you are saving something totally different.  I don't remember, though what each round was.  I know that in the game, a run is like the 2.3,4,etc of all one suit and a set is like (3) 5's and each hand called for a different combination of runs and sets.  Has anyone played it and do you know what the hands are?  I would really love to play it again.
