RIP Jean Stapleton, All in the Family's Edith, is dead!

I read that Jean Stapleton, All in the Family's Edith "Dingbat" Bunker died today.  While I considered the show funny and controversial because it dealt with a lot of topics, I watched the show because of her.  She was a sweetheart and Archie loved her in his own way, although he nicknamed her "Dingbat" because of some of the things she would do.  I remember the time when Archie had gambled money on a horse.  Stretch Cunningham called to tell him the horse's name, Glowworm and the race the horse was in.  Edith took the call.  I remember that Archie came in happy, asked Edith what was going on, and she slapped him, saying, "It was Glowworm in the fifth".   I cracked up laughing.  She is going to be missed.

Oh no. I remember when Edith died on the show.  I cried and cried.  I loved her in the movie, "Michael" with John Travolta.  They were angels.

She was a great actress they don't make them like that anymore. She will be missed. I loved watching her in All in the Family. Heaven has another great one that passed on.

I can still remember when I was growing up, sitting and watching All In The Family with my parents! That show was always on the edge, ahead of it's time!

I too remember watching "All In The Family."

The banter between Archie and Edith was great.

They don't make shows or actors and actresses like that anymore.

I like her family obituary:   "In her own words she was an 'actress', not a celebrity."
