summer break
« on: June 01, 2013, 07:21:22 am »
So we took my girls to meet my parents half way Sunday. they are paying for a cruise for them, their first. We will go all the way in to pick them up next Saturday and stay over night. But that is only two weeks of their break. the 18 year old isnt really a problem, providing she gets a summer job, but even if she doesn't she'll imerse herself in one of her books. The 10 3/4 one is a different story. She'll read but not like her sister and me. And she'll go out back and play with the dog but not for a very long time because Angel will only play so much before she goes to the shade. then She comes in whinning that Angel won't play with her anymore. I am really going to have to find things I can do with her that are free, that I can do since I am handicapped, and also not to far away.

I feel the pain of having two teenagers at home for the summer. Mine are fourteen and sixteen years old.  I am currently working two jobs at about ninety hours per week so that I can keep them immersed in healthy and educational activities.  The only drawback, for them is that they don't have very much time to themselves! Whatever...If I have to work this much so do they.  I don't want them getting jobs...like so many other parents do. So when they do have free time I willingly give them cash. I have them volunteering at a few places, in sports camps, and summer school.  If it doesn't kill them it only makes them stronger!

The 18 year old does volenteer with the local rescue cats but that is only on Saturdays. My husband is the only one that works so we are very tight on money. That is part of what makes it so hard. If we six thou they both would go away to summer camp But.......
