landlords(how do you approach them with a greivance they cause)without affending

well my landlord who is also married to my husbands mother goes and cuts grass every single time i buy and fill a pool and pops it or cuts it for the last 4 years every time i get a pool he goes out and cuts grass when i put clothes on line he goes and cuts grass right under the clothes line

How rude! he needs to respect boundaries you let him cross that line several times already so he thinks its ok... not cool at all

Offer to cut the grass yourself, since his behavior sounds like he's expressing his resentment at the task. Good luck.

Talk to him or your mother in law. Tell him you'll mow your own yard.

Yards do not need mowing but once or twice a week. So how long are you leaving clothes out on line and how long are you leaving the pool out before most can attract mosquitos or other things that may come? If your saying every time you put out your clothes he mows or every time you put your pool out he mows. Maybe it is time for a agreement in written that you may need, just to have it on paper of what this situation can be resolved.

We mow the lawn where we live.  Before we moved in we asked who does it and our landlord said he has someone do it it.  Our neighbors said someone does it once a month or so.  Well being in the landscaping business ourselves we weren't going to let it go week by week.  So, we choose to take control of the lawn ourselves.  We live in the back where the lawn is huge and there is a creek, lots of weed eating etc...  We only weed eat the front if the front tenants aren't home and the parking area is clear.  Wouldn't you know it when we were gone one day in my husbands truck we came home to find the back window of my SUV shot out.  The landlord had been there weed eating the front and we suspect a rock flung.  It happens.  When I confronted him he denied it.  Less than a month later he was at our place exchanging refrigerators and apologized.  He said he didn't know if he did it or not but he was willing to repair the window and take a look at some other problems the vehicle had (He's a mechanic) and wouldn't charge us for labor.  So the best thing to do is discuss it - even if it's uncomfortable.  You just never know what kind of results your going to get.

I would my landlord about his schedule of mowing the lawn and tell him I would hate to be in your way with the clothing on the line.  Show him you are concern about what he has to with the lawn but you also will have you time in which your clothing will be ok free from lawn residue.
