Hearing them chirp at three am would make me think that I hadn't worked hard enough to sleep through the noise or that it was time for me to wake up and get to work! I usually wake up at three every morning because this is when I used to get up to train for ultra marathons. Now I get up for half an hour to think through problems or get a grasp on what the day ahead has in store for me. Then I sleep for another hour and get up to walk the dogs, get ready and head to work from six am until midnight with the repeat cycle set seven days a week-although I get away for kid's activities on Sundays!

I heard that bird chirping at dawn, I think maybe because of the bad weather lately.

I have been here nearly 55 years and this is the first I have ever heard of birds chirping at 3 in the morning.  I am usually asleep, so I wouldn't know that for sure.  Maybe they are in the area waiting for daylight to happen so they can make more noise.  I do remember that my daughter left out for work one morning (I was at her house) and there was a bird making noise; he had actually flown into the house.  It took me hours to get that bird out of the house.  I live in the country and have been awakened to a woodpecker pecking at 5.  :angry7:

Yeah I thought it was pretty weird... When I sleep late I usually hear birds chirping late 4 am or 5 am.... Now I hear birds chirping at 3:30 am... I don't mind because it sure beats sleeping through a quiet night

I always here them between 4 and 5, never as early as 3 am. You most have some early risers in your neighborhood. ;D

I am no bird expert by any means, but that doesn't seem normal to me.  I don't see why they would be singing or making any noise at all while it's still dark.  That is what they make BB guns for.  lol

i can't say i have ever heard of birds in the middle of the night,,,  but we do have a large frog that likes to make himself known at them hours lol   So maybe an animal was after the birds eggs and the mother bird was making a lot of noise to keep the prey away from her :)

That does seem early for a bird and not normal.  Are you sure it was a bird?  Was it a chirping you've heard before?  Maybe it's just a mixed-up bird.

Birds can't tell time. When they are awake, they make noise.
