I play Mahjongg regularly.
I won a game last week.
I almost gave the tile away.
I picked it up and it was the winning tile.
The other players said I had to discard.
I told them that I couldn't; that I had Mahjongg.
That winning tile was a surprise for me; it always is when I have a winning hand.
Sometimes, in our life, we don't see the good things that are right in front of us.

My daughter and I also play. My mother taught her and me and now my ten year old is learning. Mom lives two and half hours away from us so when we go in for a weekend that is how we will often pass the time. I'm trying to get my husband to learn so we can sit and play rather then also sit in front of the "Idiot Box".

I love Mahjongg but have never been able to find any live games, only on the computer.....

Of the handful of times I've played Mahjongg, I've never found it to be interesting or having much of a point. Perhaps I'm missing something?

Hubby does not know how to play it, so i have only been playing on the computer. But now he has started to play some on the computer and seems to enjoy it. Maybe i will just buy another set soon and he will play it instead of always spending time with the tv .

I used to play Mahjongg occasionally and sudoku which I was really into for quite a while.  The problem is that I have difficulty staying with anyone activity
long enough.  I have to have variety or I get bored.  I actually love doing jumble puzzles or battleship puzzles and sudoku every now and then.  I like logic puzzles more.  It is how my brain is wired I guess.  Being on the autism spectrum has many blessings and many issues as well.  I am sort of a pattern thinker and so logic puzzles appeal to me more.  Mahjongg sort of requires logic and is a puzzle, but I have a hard time sometimes recognizing the symbols and mahjongg has a depth to it as well, which is hard for me as well.

Playing mahjongg on the computer is nothing compared to playing the real thing. It is a game that makes you think and even strategize because you don't know what your opponent has in their hands, at first anyway. Seasoned players like my mom can figure out usually from at least what section of the card they are playing by what they throw and call. In her weekly game they play for a $3 limit. But when we go home and just play to pass the time we don't play for money. But for those of you who do like other games that make you think, try playing Rummykub. It's a tile game too. (It's also a lot easier to get a rummykub set then it is a mahjongg set. Just go to the game aisle in toys r us.) Have fun playing.

I only play on the computer also.  Never played live that should be very fun.

My family used to regularly play this when I was a kid, always found the tiles fascinating and would build small structures out of them by stacking them up lol. Never played mahjong itself, should ive it try.

I have several different Mahjongg softwares that I like to play on the computer. Since I had to reformat my computer about a month ago, I haven't taken the time to put it back on.

I love playing MahJong. I have an app on my computer that I can play with many different tile sets as well as many different boards. It is great to pass time that way.
