Learning a language is always work.  But Rosetta Stone works with the ways we more intuitively learn language.  So it is also a more enjoyable way to learn a language.  I think with the new CEO they are going to move to a cloud based service which I think will also be more affordable to us.

I've never tried. I've seen a lot of commercials for it though and heard good things about it.

I know that Rosetta Stone is expensive. My friend and I were going to split the cost and share it. I will try out the link posted here too. I think it will definitely be hard work but it seems vital to learn another language nowadays

Never used it (but considering it), since I want to learn my native language.. But Rosetta Stone is quite expensive so I wouldn't buy if you don't have time for it.... From what Iheard it was a pretty good software... I heard the Army and progamers used that software

I think it can help but don't think it can get you to the point of learning a new language all on it's own.  I just think it is necessary to live in an environment where you have to speak the new language all day every day in order to learn it fluently.

It works, but it is only one aspect of learning the language. Its not about what tool is the best, but how you can use each tool to contribute to your study plan and overall knowledge of a language. In addition to Rosetta Stone, I would get some books on grammar, some media like music or movies to immerse yourself, and finally some flashcards or a program like "Anki" on your phone to help you learn during dead times of the day, like waiting in line, or a TV commercial.
