Three Kidnapped Women Found Alive in Cleveland

This story really amazes me. The fact that all of them are still alive and relativley good heath.  They will definately need the love and support of their families to adjust to their "new " lives now. I know our justice system isn't perfect but I am sure the people resposible for this unbeliveable crime will get punished to the full extent of the law.

I am thankful that the girls escaped of course.  But I am also very curious as to what motivated the one girl to escape.  I am wondering if she was watching TV and saw the exact same or very close to scenario played out on the TV show Hawaii 5-0 that was broadcast at the same time she made her escape.

I was deeply disturbed to read in the news of at least two times that neighbors had called the police after seeing bizarre things going on in the back yard of that house, but with no follow up. According to the people interviewed, when the police came to the house they would knock on the door, but leave after no answer.

It is so scary to hear something like that on the news. It's one of those things that you never think can happen to you. We watch it on TV shows all the time but it doesn't seem real. I can't imagine being held captive for years and not being able to escape.

After going through such an ordeal, these three women have to be strong to not continue to suffer.  It makes no sense how people are.  Whatever motivated Amanda Berry to escape, she made the decision to change her situation, as horrible as it was.  I hope that they can get the strength to persevere from this tragedy.  What I don't get is that police were called and nobody investigated.  And the nerve of the 911 operator was pitiful.  Amanda Berry called, and she acted as if it was something she could not have time to be bothered with.  She should be reprimanded for this.  It did not matter what the men looked like; a woman was asking for help and you couldn't take the time out to keep her on the line until the police arrived.  It's sad really.

They must be so strong to be able to endure what they were put through.  They all need support to move on after this.  That little 6 year old daughter of Amanda, will also need a lot of love and support.  Keep them in your prayers and thoughts.  Miracles do happen!!

I have been doing more reading about this case.  I am still trying to wrap my mind around the fact that Ariel Castro knew one of the girls because Gina DeJesus was his daughter's friend.  I don't see how he rested at night knowing he was putting these parents through pain, even went so far as to help in the search for the girls and knowing full well he knew where they were.  He is lower than the scum of the earth; he has no morals or remorse for what he did.  And parents trusted this man because he drove a school bus!  It goes to show you that men would rather risk going to jail for a fur beef (statutory rape) because they would rather have children instead of a woman who can handle what he puts out!  This man is a psychopath and a pedophile.  He needs to be given the same sort of torture he put those women through, only worse.

What an awful tragedy. I am glad they were freed and I hope they will get the help they need. My mother told me about their suffering and I felt bad for the pain they had went through. I hope their families will be all right and hopefully the perpetrators will be brought to justice.

I haven't been following the story really closely but I heard about a lot of the stuff that these women went through and it all just sounds horrible. At least they're alive though, most stories like this don't have a happy ending so these women are all very lucky.

Having a description of the suspect matters a great deal for the police officers responding. The biggest failure in my eyes was not getting more information on his current whereabouts.
