looking for a unique girls name

Una, the u is long vowel sound like university.  I have a friend who named her daughter Una Marie.

Cora another old fashioned name, but it's unique!

I noticed a couple of people mentioned combining the names. Duh. Both my girls' middle names are a combination of pieces of my grandmothers names. So if you can't make anything that sounds decent with your names, consider honoring previous generations.

My hubby's brother just had a baby girl...funny thing he and his wife have a huge family...blended with 8 kids total.  This time they were shooting for a boy since he's the only guy in the house.  Guess what.  Girl.  They wanted to carry the family name and add a Jr. to the end ... There plan was to call the boy AJ/Adam Jr.  But when they found out he was a she they went with Aubrey Jeanette...still AJ in the end.  I thought Adamae would have been cute...

My girlfriend who cannot have children always wanted to call her little girl "Ashia", I also like the name Mackenzie.  What ever name you decide I am sure it will be perfect.

another suggestion look at the names of the strong women in your family the first and middle names Aunts, grandmother, cousins even some of the men because there may be a female name. and then she can say where her name came from and a story to go with it.

I named my daughter Margaret because it had so many nick names, at 22 she started going by Rose and NOW she's thorn... so it really doesn't matter what you name them, they have a mind of their own...

I understand looking for a unique name as I wouldn't want my child to end up with a very common name.  I would suggest looking at a list of names and also keep your ear open to anything you hear even if it isn't a name.  A completely unique name like that is usually the best.

I agree with something old fashioned. I named my daughter Evelyn. It's an old name and I thought it was very pretty and unique to this time. Good luck!
