                     Happy May Day!   I remember as a kid we use to always make up baskets of goodies for all the neighbors.  Then you would sneak them onto the front porches to be discovered.

I can't beleive that it is actually snowing in Denver today and the weather here in Texas is going to get cold again after the 80's that we have been enjoying. What a way to start May! Hope that yours is pleasant. I am going to enjoy some more warmth before tomorrow when the chill comes in.

In some cultures, this day (and the last day of April) were considered fertility Holidays.  These days are also known as Beltane, and are the opposite of Halloween or Samhain.  The May Pole and other images are associated with May 1. 

This is the time of life, fertility, fecundity, and sex.  Use your time wisely.

I remember doing the Maypole dances at school.  (In Southern California)     Today the temp is suppose to be mid 80's, but the next few days we are suppose to get in the mid to upper 90's.  The one thing out here that keeps us from getting to hot this time of year is the marine layer we have, doesn't burn off until mid morning to early afternoon.  (For you guys who have never lived near the ocean, that is like really high fog, doesn't come down to the ground)

I am in SoCal, too.  I live near Idyllwild.  We are supposed to get warm, then cool again.  Rain maybe this weekend. 

We get the ocean haze way out here, too.  Still hasn't burned off all the way and it is after noon.  Cool, though.  Nice day.
