Who loves their veggies??

I love fresh veggies and we are headed into the spring, summer, and fall harvests! I will spend a few hours on Sundays preparing veggies for the week and a few huge salads for dinners. It was somewhat interesting that I had a cholesterol problem  while I was eating really healthy. Fifty percent of my meals were protein and fifty percent were carbohydrates. I got really sick in December and didn't eat for a week or so. When I started feeling a little better I could only stomach vegetables and fruit. After  a month of this I had to go into the doctor for a routine exam. She measured my Cholesterol level and I was right in line! Viva las vegetables!

I admit I was never a real vegetable lover, but when I do eat them I prefer to have a nice salad. I like iceberg lettuce, with tomatoes, (the regular tomatoes are fine as well as cut roma and cherry) with croutons, cheese, chicken, turkey or tuna as meat and some ranch or thousand island dressing. It's like a meal for me and I get my vegetables. I can also have carrots mixed in as well.

My mother makes good coleslaw too. I love that with salmon croquettes as a meal.

  i've loved veggies since i ws young and so does my children. My son who is 8 would pick a veggie before he eats a cookie.

I'm a vegetarian, so I certainly do! My boyfriend and I make shish kebobs on the grill tonight (his had meat) but mine were veg.

My husband loves his veggies.  He likes peas and beans most.  I was worn out by my late grandmother because she cooked blackeyed peas darn near every day.  When we had greens, that was a delicacy of sort.  He loves cabbages too.

As for me, in the Summer, I could eat almost any veggie from my garden . I live on Watermelon, green and yellow beans, cukes, lettuce, tomatoes, corn on cob, and any veggie salads. As for the rest of the year, I prefer eating lots of fresh veggies i canned and meat from our own raised animals. I can also just live on fresh veggies alone. yummm!

When we were young, our parents made us eat those things? How many of us still eat them as adults because we like them? And what is your favorite. I love broccoli!

I love all veggies. I also like to grow them in my garden. It is hard to choose just one as my favorite. Eggplant is the most special. I like the  different ways to eat it whcih can be just fried or fried and covered with cheese or spaghetti sauce(Parmisan). Boiled is the least favorite way for me to eat it and I really don't eat it raw in salads, like some recipes call for. Brussel sprouts and asparagus are also some of my favorite speciality vegetables. Spinach  is one of the most versatile and can be used in almost anything. But the most used veggie has got to be the potato in my house. I eat veggies everyday.

when i was young, my parents always made me eat my veggies, i only disliked the bitter-tasting ones.
i still eat them because it's actually really tasty and it's healthy for you!

I used to like veggies and fruits when I was young and ate them a lot. Now I don't eat them as often. I do love me spinach though.

I love mine , very picky about which ones though. I'm a big fan of the green ones, like broccoli, cucumber, spinach, asparagus, string beans...mmmm..

Nothing tastier than fresh, crunchy, vegetables slightly steamed with a mild butter (or butter substitute) sauce.  Love them all, both green and yellow.
