Why being on a budget is so important?

  It seems as long as the economy  is in bad shape, the more I have to stick with my budget. If it means using more coupons to save money, I will do it. Normally, I don't have the patience to clip coupons,but again it is for budget reasons  to help myself and my husband;so we can save some money and have some extra money to go out.

I don't use coupons much, mostly because I can usually find store brands that are cheaper and coupons get me to buy items I don't even really need. We have been taking out $250 a month for groceries and household (soap, toilet paper, etc.. ) for me and my husband. If any is left over we put it into savings. Surprisingly we can save about $50 or more a month this way if we are careful. We have strayed a bit from the budget because we have a trip to Kauai planned for next month and it is easy to get carried away with purchasing travel accessories. At least we have a buffer for the trip.

For me its so we can have money for  carnivals and such. gotta make sure that all the bills are paid first because we are trying to keep the credit as best as we can.

Budgeting is important to my family because our income is really low.  If we don't pay our bills and budget we don't make it and its hard to accomplish that no matter how much we budget.

budgeting is important .even more is getting rid of things you don't need like cable were going to get rid of premium channels like showtime and hbo in a couple months.i'm am going to miss Homeland but not much else .Also love to shop the 99cent and dollar stores,got hellmans mayo for 99cent that was a good deal.

I use coupons most of the time, the problem with some people is they have a coupon for something they never use but they will buy it because of the coupon.  That's one habit I never got into, also I do shop at the Dollar Tree.  Toothpaste, brand names, some brand name food items, brand name shampoo, body wash, etc AND they take coupons.  So when it only cost $1.00 and you have say a 25 cent coupon, you can leave with a full size tube of Crest for 75 cents!  You can't beat prices like that!!

yes budgeting is a way of life at my home and the buy one get one free are the way to go some times they have the one  get 2 free at Price chopper and of course I love the dollar stores also and I just love thrift store shopping I got 6 pairs of capris and 6 tops  this past Saturday and a Church thift shoppe for under 40 dollars and I was tickled pink  they were name brands and most looked brand new   I was a very happy shopper

Budgeting is very important.  So many people waste money.  It's a matter too of keeping track where your money goes.  A little here and a little there can add up really quick for extras and treats that we do not always need regularly.

I used to buy so many beverages while I was shopping or run to the drive through for this beverage/coffee or a treat, etc.  I have cut that way back and just wait until I get home or bring something with me.  This is an example of where some of us may be spending or wasting too much money.  I would rather spend it on something more important or save the money.  It's just a matter of changing habits.

Due to the economy I already had to be on a tight budget but when my hubby passed away in January    and I lost his income, it became totally critical that I budget because I already don't have enough to work with..........................but I always seem to make it one way or another.

I clip as many coupons as i can as long as it is a product I was going to buy anyway. Free money.

 Hope things get better for you.  Maybe you could look around (cautiously) and get a room mate.  I know several older ladies in our church who have become roommates, it helps with the rent and they are not alone all the time.   Besides cutting out grocery coupons watch for other coupons too.  Many restaurants offer one dinner free if you buy one dinner.  Shop off season for clothes, right after christmas I got 2 pair of very expensive sandals for 12.00 total because they needed them gone to bring in the new spring line.  Who can tell if flip flops are this year    or last year's style?  LOL  Only cut out the coupons for things you use.
