Do you Know any Introvert People?

I'm an introvert although I can be more extroverted in situations where people expect it.  For some reason, many people (likely extroverts) seem to get upset if someone is quiet or not constantly talking.  I'm not really sure why people expect everyone to be just like them.

Yes.  This happens to me a lot.  Introversion is not valued in our society.  Most activities are geared towards extroversion.

I'm definitely an introvert though I don't consider the quietness as a preoccupation with myself. I just prefer solitude sometimes.  I think I'm becoming less of an introvert as I age.

I am often in introvert-mode.  I observe.  I try hard to chew my words carefully before they leave my mouth.  I have found that many are full of sound and fury that signifies very little.

And quiet people have loud minds.

This is not true and an over-simplification.  We do thoroughly enjoy talking to people.  We just do not care for small talk, generally.  Many of us prefer writing because it allows us to focus our thoughts.

We do not like unnecessary talk.

Chalk me up as another introvert on the board.  Guess that's why I like living in cyberspace. 

I've learned extrovert techniques through ballroom dancing and teaching to have a means to force myself into the world, as a necessity for survival (so to speak).  By my first tendencies are to be that quiet mouse in the corner observing everything before volunteering to contribute anything - and only if there is a reason.

Over the years, my mix of friends tends to be a nice blend of extroverts and introverts of varying degrees.  We introverts enjoy listening to the tales spun by our extrovert friends.  And our extrovert friends fully appreciate the gems of conversations we drop from time to time.  No one complains about the other, we've tended to find a happy balance.
