Yes, although it should be noted that doing so doesn't get your heart rate up in the same way that jogging or running would. It's good exercise to do, but certainly not the best kind.

I walk about 5 miles every day. I have a little circle that I do in my neighborhood. I do it every morning. It keeps me trim.

I walk every day for good health. Keep that blood flowing...it is good for your body too.

Do you walk for exercise or the fun of it?

I walk primarily for health but it's also fun especially if you can walk outdoors in an area filled with beautiful flowers!!!!

I love to take walks for fun. My kids will ask me, and we will take the dog and have great conversations.
I also walk with my neighbor.
It's more "excerise" involved, but we have great conversations too!

I am currently trying to walk for exercise though that's mainly cause I need to walk my dog as well and it's so much easier doing that than taking her for a walk and then doing something additional for me.

I walk for exercise, but either it was too slippery out, or the nasty cold north wind would just about blow you down.  I sold my treadmill as we are moving, and I expect to be walking again very soon, as soon as the swelling in my leg and knee go down.  Don't know how I hurt it, but I sure did!

I really love walking BUT I do more walking in cold weather... fall and winter. I love walking in lots of snow(and I do that a LOT) because it just seems to me that it is more strenuous and I feel it really is a great exercise for not only me, but for my legs which really could use the work out. I do not walk a lot in the summer because i HATE sweating. I can not do anything in the summer. The heat bothers me a lot. Also I prefer doing my walking or outside work either early morning or late evening while it is much cooler and the suns not beating down on me.

I don't walk for exercise, but I do a lot of walking all night long at my job. So I guess I'm getting paid to exercise?

Definitely exercise.  Its hard work to walk like my brother and I walk especially in the Florida heat.  We have each lost over 50 pounds though so I guess its worth it.  We also ride bikes every day.

I don't really consider walking fun but walking and listening to my music is fun. I normally walk 90% of the time. Walking is free while public transportation costs money and is not really reliable. Walking is also healthy and an okay form of exercise.

Walking for exercise can be enjoyable, especially if you have ice scenery to look at while walking
