I do walk just for the fun of it. But I do realize that when I am having fun, I am happy. Even going up the stairs instead of the elevator, It could be harder at first, but once you get used to it, then it becomes routine. Walking for fun is a much healthier approach because then your body don't have to get used to the word "exercise." So make it fun as much as possible. That is my 2 cents for the topic at hand.

I use to walk every day and lost weight doing it.  I loved walking in a local park.  Now I would love to walk again, but arthritis has slowed me down and it hurts so bad to walk.

  I would LOVE to walk but cant do much due to medical problems but I do as much as possible. I have a walking meter and I usually walk about 5,498 steps a day or a little more. Sounds like a lot but to me i dont know. and these steps are not all at the same time. I need to stop and rest. But I DO enjoy walking and widsh I had someone to walk with to enjoy it more.

I walk for exercise and I love doing it. It is a good way to get your exercise in everyday and it is healthy for you. Sometimes I go to the park and walk or I might just walk in my neighborhood a couple of times until I am tired or when I feel it in my legs. It also helps me burn calories too

I usually put in an hour five days a week. I do a 30 minute walk in the morning and 30 minutes at Curves after work. It's doable but everyone's different. Some may need less and some more. I just feel like I need to push myself constantly because what I was doing wasn't working for me. I push myself when I work out and I have fun doing it.

We try to walk a couple of miles about 4 times a week. Yesterday we did a 3 mile walk. Along with changing my eating habits.

I walk every day for fun and exercise. I also get the dog out at the same time. She's great company and pulls me out even on the days I'm not feeling like exercise.

I walk at lunchtime for a good 30 to 40 minutes depending on how much time I have left.  I sit almost all day at work, and I just cannot sit for another hour in the lunch room.  It's important to get outside and be with nature and sunshine.  The walk helps keep the weight off, reduces stress and clears my head for the rest of the afternoon.

I love to walk for exercise and just for something to do, but my health is now interfering with my abilty to do so. I have Ostoarthitis in both knees and the cartlige is gone in my left and the right is working out the same way. But on my good days I still try to get in some walking on smooth flat surfaces. Hills/inclines/stairs are a no go for me these days, as I used to hike in ridge line around where we live. All the local parks have hiking trails like this in SW WV, SE Ohio, NW KY. , me and my eldest daughter and her 3 children have done this since they were babies. I would always back pack the smallest one. Makes me sad :'( but I shall rebuild my strengh so can enjoy one of my favorite past times :cat:

I try to integrate walking in my exercise and leisure schedule, but sometimes I'm so busy at work I find a hard time finding the time to do this. I sometimes convince myself I will do this after work, but often times I'm too exhausted and as it's already dark I'm usually discouraged to continue. I'll hit the treadmill periodically to make up for it, but I don't this consistently.

I walk for both. It is a good thing to do. I am also looking into buying a bike so I can also go bike riding.
