Do you walk for exercise or the fun of it?

I do not walk for exercise. I run at least 3 days a week.

When I was losing weight 9 years ago I did walk at first as a way to jumpstart my metabolism.

I love walking for exercise, relaxing and much easier on the knees than jogging.

I don't really walk for exercise or for the fun of it. I will choose to walk about 3 miles instead of taking the bus. But really long distances I have to take the train because I would be so sore the next day from a really long walk. Especially during the summer it's so hot. I don't feel like waling. I will say that listening to my ipod while I'm walking is rather enjoyable.

Usually I don't walk much but when I go to college, I sumtimes park farther away from my designated building... Walking uphill is annoying but at least its good for me and also I don't have to fight for a parking space

LOVE Walking.  I've been very bad about walking lately.  The weather and time hasn't worked in my favor.  Ever since I was about 14 I became an avid walker.  Started walking to my friends houses in the neighborhood and we enjoyed it so much it became a nightly thing..just a way for us to hang out since there wasn't anything better to do...but I think it was a healthy foundation in achieving the benefits walking offer.  Now my husband, kids and I go for walks.  With no walking paths near us we walk country roads.  If the wind is to strong...if it's cold/rainy or even looks like it could rain we use caution.  Last summer we went for a walk...bout 2 miles and on our way home it started to pour.  There is a rinky bridge with a few tree's we tried hiding under to stay dry till it passed but it was a lost cause.  Although the memory of us standing there is a good one...it's not a situation we would like to catch ourselves in again.

When all the blomming tress get through, i will be walking again. And when the winds an blowing dust quit. Makes it awful hard walking if you are breathing dust or blowin and sneezing all the time. Oh man i hate allergies. And i have already had 2 shots and working on time for another. They help. but can only have 1 every2 months.

I love walking both for exercise and fun. The city of Knoxville, TN has a lot of walking trails that the citizens can enjoy. There is a nature area close to my home called Ijams, that is where my family goes walking the most. It has several different areas and walking trails as well as bike trails. Beautiful place to go.

Yes I walk for exercise, my mental well being and for my dog.  I enjoy walking and find it to be a great way to get exercise while enjoying the day.  I do take time to smell the roses making this a time to relax and refocus.

I use to jog but because I'm getting older it's been rough on the ankles and knees, so now I walk more for exercise.

I walk for both reasons. I walk my dogs, two golden retrievers, every day for at least a mile.  We keep a brisk pace so that I get some exercise benefit out of it.  I try to walk the dogs, time permitting , for two to three miles on Saturdays and Sundays. When I park at stores, work and school I park as far away as possible so that I get more exercise and my car doesn't get dinged(plus it is always easy to find). I follow the same path when at work and I always take the stairs up and down (only two flights) fo that I can optimize my walk. I used to work on the ninth floor which was excellent excercise-I would come in huffing and puffing!

I do walk a bit for exercise although not very much only about 1.5 miles, 4 days a week. I walk with my husband to the bus stop when he goes to work. There is no good parking by his work so he is forced to take the bus but at least it is free for him. My work starts later in the day so I can walk with him before starting work.

I find that walking for 1/2 hour a day really helps me to loose weight and keep it off.  I try to do this regularly. I used to be a runner and I found that running for 15 minutes a day produced the same results.
