I know how you feel!  I have Medicaid but I still have co-pays and our medicine comes to over $40.00 and we don't have it and my nurse expects it to be here the next time she comes what am I going to do?  I have no income of my own and my husbands disability covers our bills and I am stressing over it.  I also chipped another tooth and Medicaid doesn't pay for dental for adults.  I need all my teeth pulled.  There are free dental programs but I don't qualify because I have Medicaid which doesn't cover dental.  So what can I do I need medications by Friday?  I went to family they can't help either.

I am aware that Medicaid is run by each state so what they cover may be different from one state to another but I know that here locally Medicaid does cover some dental work, particularly the extraction of all ones remaining teeth and the fitting of dentures. I think that has to be deemed a 'medical necessity' by an MD as it is required for getting proper nutrition. This was the case of a family acquaintance's experience a couple of years ago. BTW that same individual received Rx's at no cost through a local Doctors Association, set up similar to a food bank for those that had no way to pay. That might be available as well, although I know it is not all that common.

Best wishes...

Missouri Medicaid covers dental for 18 and younger or 63 and over.  My teeth are making me sick but they denied me and those free places denied me because I have Medicaid.  Now if my doctor will say I am a diabetic I might me able to get my teeth pulled but they won't pay for dentures for me.

Yes I know the feeling about trying to pinch pennies.  Good for you to reuse the fence piece.  This way you can spend your money on something else that you need.  I always look for ways to try to not spend money if I do not have to.  This serves as a good example, to not just run out and buy something new, when you can reuse.

There are a lot of us out there barely making it. I'm a single mother of a 4 year so I know how you feel. I clip coupons, make my own laundry det, unplug unused appliances and turn lights out when not in use. I do work 40 hours a week but it's still not enough. All I can offer is to not let it bog you down too much. It will get better.

I'm sorry to hear that.  I don't know if I'm considered poor or not, but I'm always worried about not having money.  My parents always seemed ok, but they never really did anything extra like vacations or going out to dinner.  I'd hear my parents talking in the other room about not having money to get new bed sheets despite there being holes in their's and I guess that sorta freaked me out.

Though, from that, I've been one of those people who can't throw away anything cause I fear I may need it later.  I'm cleaning out some of the boxes in my room and I've found 4 portable walkman CD players, about 7 headsets where one earpieces doesn't work and the other does, various computer components like laptop keyboards, RAM, hard drives, cords, etc.  Not to mention I came across a few mayonnaise jars full of change, which added up to about $300 once I counted it out, not including all the quarters.

Honestly, I'm more impressed by people who are reuse things than those who just run out and buy something.  They tend to treat things better cause they know they can't just go get another if it breaks.  Plus, they tend to be more resourceful when trying to solve a problem.  So, honestly, I think being poor tends to make people better humans in the long run since they know the value of the dollar they have.

I don't think there is anything wrong with taking the old fencing. Our society can be so wasteful it is good if we can make use of another persons trash. Sometimes I find clothing or appliances by the trash at an apartment complex I go to often to do caregiving. Sometimes I might help the lady I take care of to sell some of the items on craigslist or I might find clothes that fit once in awhile. She doesn't have much money being on SSI so I am glad she is able to sell others trash to make a little extra. We have found perfectly good lamps, furniture, microwaves, clothes, etc.. all next to the garbage bin.

I'm agree with Diala84. don't feel bad about picking up was someone else throws out. our bathroom sink vanity was really damaged and luckily my boyfriend had seen one on the side of the road in real good condition so he used it to replace ours. Some people throw out perfectly good things so i don't feel bad about getting them. One man's trash is another man's treasure.
