Life & Death
« on: April 14, 2013, 05:43:56 am »
I don't mean to seem/sound morbid or anything. But I just found out that my sons friends Mom passed away last Sept at the age of 53. And now on April 3rd of 2013 my sons friend (son of the one who passed in Sept) has also passed away  :sad1:

Life is TRULY so short and to think that 1 minute you are here and the next you're GONE. All the work a body does while living and then all of a sudden you are non existent. does anyone else think about things like that? if so please exchange your thoughts with me?..........hmmm I don't like being in this dark place but just finding out that 2 people I use to know are gone now brought me there :crybaby2:...............somebody cheer me up please!!

Life is short and we never know who Death will call, because it is not always by age. The best way I have found to deal with the sadness of someone we know leaving this earth is knowing that they are in a better place, now. If you ever watch Godtube, there are some angel stories and life after death stories that make you feel better about leaving this planet to go to the next realm. We cannot determine when our time has come to pass away from this place or anyone else's. Instead we must strive to be at peace with ourselves and know we are ready to be taken! After Jesus overcame Death and there is really nothing to fear! George Harrison's wife said that he practiced all his life on ow to leave this life. When he died the whole room lit up like daylight when his soul left his body! And he was not what you would call a practicing Christian. But no one can you say that he did not go to Heaven.

There is a fine line there. I agree that life is short. Even if we live to be a hundred I find life to be too short. And it is a shame that we cannot stay young for much longer.

The best way to "cheer up" is to have faith in God and remember we are only here for a short time.  As Carrie Underwood sings - this is our "temporary home"!!!  The greater reward is yet to be seen!!!  I like to think too that even though others have gone before us, someday we will all be reunited!!!!  Having lost many loved ones myself, I can only think this way.  I hope you too will be able to "have a change of heart"!!!!!

Most cultures have some belief in the afterlife - maybe not heaven, but some form of life after death.  This is one reason why there is a saying that goes "life, death, life".

Even within physics, there is the First Law of Thermodynamics which states that energy cannot be created or destroyed, it only changes form.  The energy which was present within those people has moved on to another form.  I really do not believe in a state of non-existence.

Even Carl Jung spoke about the collective unconscious.

In the past, when I have had to struggle with losing someone close to me, I have found great comfort in the movie "What Dreams May Come".  It is very comforting.

May you find some peace.

I wish I could cheer you up.  I won't lie and say I can.  I understand how you feel because I lost a daughter many years ago and also lost a niece and nephew within 3 years of each other.  I know how your mind wanders and how you try to understand it all.  The best I can say is that right now, you're in mourning.  Every individual mourns differently.  Some can get through it quickly, and for others, it may take some time.  You'll never truly get over losing someone who is close to you but, with time, I can say that the pain eases.  I believe that those I love and lost are still around me, even though I can't physically see them.  I also believe that someday, I'll see them all once again.  Knowing that is what gets me through the rough times.  My condolences to you and your son.

I truely believe that i will be reunited those that i have loved and lost. There are time i feel as if they are around me and helping me.   Several times i know deep within my heart i have heard thm. Case in point i had a blow out on the right front tire, and as clear as a bell i heard my sons voice tell me easy on the brake, I know there will be those that don't belive but i do. I could have just as easily rolled that big pickup. My son had just passed away about 2 years before this happened. So yes i believe they are with us in spirit.

This is not our home. that is why it is of the essence that we choose Jesus, we go on to an eternal life with our Father.

I just thought of something, and I do not know if this will bring you much comfort.  Every atom in the human body comes from the Sun.  Eventually, our atomic structures will be rejoined with the sun and other celestial bodies.  After a great deal of time, our atomic structures will part of a Singularity again.  Life does never ceases, darling.  It goes on and on.

Life will go on, even after death.
