Crazy!
« on: March 30, 2013, 10:01:01 pm »
I live in Indiana. Lately we have been fortunate to get some nice weather so I decided to clean up some leaves from the fall.  When I moved the leaves I was surprised to see that my tulips had already sprouted 4 inches above the ground!  Last weekend we had 9 inches of snow on the ground so I know these were there before the snow.  I am surprised they didn't die!

Tulips are very durable plants.  I had them at my other house that were planted by the owners before me.  They came up every year, like clockwork, for 5  years and I don't remember every doing anything to them.

I like tulips, Yes they are easy to maintain but also they do not last a long time. They are kind a spring only flowers.Still they are really brave and do come out really early in the year. Enjoy your garden.

Tulips are a pretty hardy plant.  If the bulbs don't freeze, they'll be back!  Isn't it great to see those flowers after the cold and snow of winter?  It certainly makes you feel like Spring has Sprung!!!

Wow that surprises me, is it possible they will slowly wither away. I didn't know tulips were that strong.

its because they were covered with the leaves they acted like an insulator from the snow.

Tulips are a pretty strong flower.  Mine have come up for over 15 years.  I didn't plant them the woman who. Lived here before me did so they are the same bulbs from her.  I love this time of the year when some flowers start to come out.  You know summer is just around the corner.

OMG! Wow! That's amazing!
Opinion: 1) a view, judgment, or appraisal formed in the mind about a particular matter 2) belief stronger than impression and less strong than positive knowledge
This is the internet, learn to let people have opinions. And don't be so sensitive.  8)
