On my Mother's Side, My Nana's maiden name is Caissie, and we come from a long line of Acadians that came over to Acadia (Now New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, PEI area) from Ireland, so from my mother's side I guess that makes me Acadian and Irish. We were able to trace her side back to 1646 when my Gr Grandfather times 12 came over to Acadia from Ireland.

On my dad's side, I'm not sure, because I haven't been able to trace my last name Driesse back to anywhere--but I'm guessing that we are french Canadian based on the spelling.
