I see on tv for different cases or whatever kids are in court do you think this is a good idea? I do not think if the kids are involved in the cases that this may not be a good place for them what do you think?

If I understood the question, I might be able to give an opinion.  Are the children the ones on trial, or is some adult just bringing them into court just for the heck of it?

they should learn how the judicial system works, but babies and smaller kids they are distracting, and a judge does not like it

No.  And speaking from experience here, I now believe (and I would not have said this two years ago) that these kids that are being taken to court by there parents for what is being called "beyond parental control" charges is also bogus.  I now believe that it is the parents who have lost the control.  I lived in fear of my Daddy and there is nothing wrong with the way we were raised int the 70's.  A good healthy fear of being unable to sit down for a while is not a bad thing and I hate that these judges think a child's life should be all marshmallow fluff and pillows.  What do these kids do when they get out of school into the real world?  Hold a job just long enough until they tell their boss not to tell them what to do and how to do it and wonder what happened to that job.  I have now seen with my own eyes a 16 year old girl with 60 absences in one school year go into juvenile detention and the father walk out of the courtroom and head out to wherever he was heading.  Where is his responsibility?????????  Yep, I am AMAZED by today's juvenile court system.  I am amazed mainly because the kids today look at the courts as a step in the chain of command above Mom and Dad.  There was no step up over Mom and Dad. It was a "the buck stops here" thing and that was great.  Do you remember the days when all a parent had to say was "Because I am you mother and I said no"?

Sorry.  Off my soapbox now.  But great thread and good question!!!

children these days should go on trials. It depends on the seriousness of the charges. Children these days are committing crimes.

i do not think it is the place for kids unless they are part of the case and even then they should be able to be in chambers with the judge and laywers

Depends how old they are and what the case is about
For example, I was also watching a show ( I think it was Law & order) here they wanted a little boy to testify that he saw the man who shot his parents but then the man he was testifying against was part of a mafia and they tried to kill the child.

Probably not a real life scenario but a child in court could still be dangerous.

i think kids should be in court because they need to learn that certain crimes are very serious and it will be dealt with.

I have to agree with something that was said above, things were different when I was growing up.  I have a Seventeen year old son, I am very lucky that he has stayed out of trouble and has a good head on his shoulders.  But I hear him talking about things that happen in school or have seen were other kids have gotten in trouble, things that would have landed us in a great deal of trouble with the courts and our parents.  Now a days children are not made accountable for anything they do.  As far as going to court maybe if some of them went and had to pay something for the things they did or see what can happen if you don't do what is correct.

I really think that it would depend on the situation. However, filing charges against your 11 and 12 year old because they are a little slow and sluggish doing chores, periodically speaking his mind or talking out of turn or just showing his anger because you as a parent don't always act like they should is hog wash. Parents are supposed to be sitting a good example but if you are being abusive and fighting with your wife and kicking the cats and arguing before your children then you better consider yourself as the one being unruly not the child because they are just reacting to what they are seeing. Now on the other hand if the child is doing drugs, stealing, shoplifting and hurting others then that is probably a court  matter.

If they committed a crime they should go to court and learn their lesson, other wise they'll never learn their lesson if they don't go.

I think it depends on what's going on. But if they're apart of the case or the case is about them then yeah I think they should be there.

The cours are so easy going with some of the kids nowadays, give them one chance after another and does not do any good. I believe tough love works better at most times. Don't just slap their hands and tell them not to do it again. Yeah like that works.

My opinion is: Kids are too young to understand what is happening in these courts. The answer then is: "No...do not bring the kids to the court".
