When I was a kid. My friends house had a huge bee hive in a tree next to the walkway to the front door. You couldn't even go up to the door without encountering a swarm of bees. My friend assured me it was okay that they would not hurt anyone (excuse me?) Being young and stupid I followed her to her front door. And lo and behold a bee landed on my head, and when I brushed it off, apparently it gave distress signal to the hive, and before I knew it, bees were all over my head. I hightailed it out of there in a dead run! My house was about six blocks away, and the bees chased me halfway there. I ended up with a dozen stings to my scalp. I remember my Dad taking the stingers out of my head. I was really sore for a few days, but otherwise okay.

Several times, sometimes the stinger would stay in and it really hurt.

I found out when I was a kid, after being stung by a bee, that I am deathly allergic to them and all stinging bee types :star:

I had a bee fly up my shorts and sting me on the butt once. More embarrassing than painful. Fortunately i wasn't allergic.

Been stung a couple times - I swell up like a balloon as I'm allergic.  I always make sure I carry some allergy medication with me during the summer ... just in case.

Yes I did and it hurt like the devil! It almost immediately swelled up my arm, had to go to the doctor to get the stinger removed and put me on Medication to stop infection.

I too have any allergy to bee's. I got stung once when I was at a craft show. I got a table inside so I wouldn't have to deal with the bees. I reached into a bag that had my cross stitch I was working on and there was a hornet in there that I didn't see and got stung. They actually had to call a ambulance and rush me to the hospital. Scared my kids a lot. Anyway they game me meds and I now have a epi pen. My finger stayed swollen for 2 weeks from that sting. It's hard for me as I love to garden. Not very safe for me, but I won't give it up. When the bees get too aggressive or a large amount of them show up I call it a day. I have a respect for them and their territory. Without the bees the plants wouldn't thrive.    :BangHead:

I got stung a few times when I was a kid,and one time I had my car window open and leaned back on one. I also got stung on the hand when I was mowing, then like a dummy, a couple of weeks later mowing in the same place, they got me again in the hand. I figured they would be gone by then.

Bee stings, anyone?  I remember going horseback riding and my horse got stung on its rump.  It wasn't happy and went up on its hind legs, thus tossing me to the ground.  I also got stung.  Not a fun day.
I have been stung by bees, hornets, wasps, catepillars. But the worst was a scorpion. Hornets are pretty bad, too. I have been stung by those more than any other. Since I garden, I find them, or they find me, when I am digging in the dirt. The best way to avoid being stung is to watch for their curled up reddish brown bodies in the dirt and avoid touching them. Wasps and bees will usually leave you alone if you leave them alone. No swatting! A scorpion will just sting you and sting you. Stomp his guts out!

Yes I have been stung before and pulling out the stinger is the worse.
one time when I had a scooter, I was riding here in Warsaw, IN and a bee flew in under the helmet and stung me in the bottom lip. I pulled over and pulled the bee out and then pulled out
the stinger from my bottom lip. for a couple of days, my bottom lip was swollen. it is a good thing that the Japanese giant hornets don't live here in Indiana. they are huge, and they have a mean
temper. of course, if one stings you, its friends may be nearby so the entire nest stings you. I have been stung by several bees, some wasps, a couple yellow jackets, and a couple of hornets. (not at
the same time though.)

I have been stung on numerous occasions. The first time was when I was 11 years old and weeding the family garden. Got stung right on the arm and never even saw the little booger. Two weeks later I was at Home Depot and felt something moving around on my head, reached up to whack it off and was stung on the thumb. A few years later, my sisters and I were at a hotel swimming pool and a bee landed on my back. I managed to get stung as one of them tried to kill it. The stinger was still attached to my back 30 seconds after the initial sting. The last time was when I was at home. I was coming down the stairs and swung around on the banister, my hand being the target of the bee sting. I guess you could say I have had my run ins with natures honey makers.
