I know that I am not the only one who enjoys a good foreign film.  If you enjoy foreign films, want to pass along an awesome title that you have recently seen, or are looking for FF suggestions, post here!

Some of my favorites include:

City of Lost Children
Pan's Labyrinth
The Sea Inside
The Diving Bell and the Butterfly
Fantastic Planet
Metropolis
Survive Style 5+  (Oh my goodness, if you love Asian films & Comedy, this is the film for you!)
Ma Vie en Rose
La Vie en Rose

and so many others.

Good, gritty, foreign horror films are:

The Devil's Backbone
Dumplings

I am always open to suggestions for Foreign Films.  :D

I liked the City of Lost Children and Pan's Labyrinth.  I also liked District 13, City of God. Amelia, and Tsotsi.

I love foreign movies.  Haven't seen one in a while.  Off the top of my head some that I like were:

2046 (Hong Kong)
Namaste London (Bollywood)
Departures (Japanese)
The Warrior  (India)

Saw a Korean one recently on Hulu can't remember the name.

Awesome, someone who has seen Tsotsi!  That movie is amazing.  :D

Amelie is such a darling film.  My daughter and I love it.  City of God -- I am not sure if I have seen that one.  I will look it up.  I am excited!

My husband and I just watched a darling comedy last night called "Starbuck".  It is French Canadian and has English subs.

Totally recommend it.

I'll definitely check out the ones being listed, good stuff. I'm a big fan of japanese samurai type movies myself. Some good ones include

Musashi Series
Ran
Kagemuusha

Those are the best i've seen IMO.

"Life is Beautiful" won Academy Award for best foreign language film in 1997 as well as others. I loved it. It was both funny and sad and was partly based on a true story. I highly recommend it.

I cannot believe I forgot t mention this one.  I was watching the Oscars when Roberto Benigni gave his acceptance speech.  I cried during the movie and I cried during his speech.  This is a fantastic movie.  FANTASTIC!

Another rather poignant movie is Il Postino.

Another great foreign film -- this one is Japanimation (Japanese Animation).

It is called Graveyard of the Fireflies.  It is quite sad.  Some scenes may be disturbing to sensitive viewers.

Highly recommended.

A movie to stay AWAY from is Baise-Moi.

I do NOT recommend this one.  It is very violent and not suitable for anyone unless you are a sociopath.
