Topic: I have been reading up around the forum and might have learned I am in trouble.  (Read 1693 times)

Hi there, thank you for taking the time to read my topic. I have been having a great deal of fun here on FC since joining on the 6th. I have been reading up about offers, support, payments, etc. in the forum. Thank you all for your simple and easy to understand tips and pointers! One of the many helpful things that I have read up on is the offer to download a partners software and to NOT uninstall it. I totally did it. LOL:/ My family and I have only one pc in our home. My husband has been complaining of our pc's speed declining and freezing when he uses internet explorer. I told him what I had completed for offer's and that it might have something to do with that. I see that many of you choose and advise against completing such offer's. The take away message is clear... do NOT do this. LOL:) Typical me, jump first, look later. My question to you is this... will I be penalized for uninstalling the software? Is there a time frame I should leave it on first? Basically, how can I get out of this? If I have to accept being discredited for my lack of proactive self training... then that is a consequence I will have to endure. I am just not sure what my best options are here. If any of you could help me, I would really appreciate your time and effort. I would be really regretful if my naive way's caused my family to be without our greatest source of information. Access to the internet. :( Thank you in advance for any and all comments. I am learning a great deal from all of you!

The worst that could happen is that the company would take back the money they credited you for installing the software. You wouldn't be scolded or anything...lol. They usually tell you to keep it installed for 30 days....some companies are more. The offer will tell you how long you must keep it installed.  I have an old computer I use whenever something needs to be downloaded. That way the computer I use everyday doesn't get bogged down with stuff. So really there is nothing you have to do....just keep your fingers crossed that they don't take the money back, but if they do it's not really a big deal....just a lesson learned.  :thumbsup:

That's a great idea...using an older computer that isn't worth much to download things on.  Voila.  Now where can I get an old computer?  I'm struggling enough as it is with having only one in our household with our family of 5...two of which are teens.  I think this is true..that by uninstalling something you just won't receive credit for it.  I installed a toolbar from another site and all sorts of wacky things started happening.  One thing for sure is that most of the contributors here on FC are honest and tell ya like it is.  I don't think anyone here wants to mislead anyone into doing something that could bite them in the behind...

I do not think Fusion Cash would penalize you at all. If you do not want the software I would uninstall it. Note that my use of Internet Explorer 8 was getting slow and full of errors on it's own with no downloads. I have stopped using it.

It's quite possible that the software is causing your computer to slow down.  Then again, it could be malware or viruses that are causing it, too.  Hopefully, you're smart enough to have Antivirus software installed and maybe a software like "Malwarebytes" to take care of any pesky malware you may have picked up.  I don't know if you have any kids that use your computer but, I can practically guarantee you that if you do, you've got some kind of malware or virus.  Kids are excellent at infecting our computers, LOL.  Also, if you're running Windows, it's very helpful to run a Disk Cleanup (to clean up old files on your hard drive), Defrag (to make your programs open quicker) and DskChk (to check and correct any errors on your hard drive).  Uninstall any old programs that you don't use anymore - the closer you get to a full hard drive, the slower things become. 

As someone else had mentioned prior to me, you usually have to keep the Offer's software installed for a certain period of time in order to keep your credit.

 Wow! Thank you soooo much:) Your wisdom is greatly appreciated BlackSheepNY! I do run Windows, and am going to run a Google search on how to do these things, unless anyone has any sites they would care to recommend? LOL:) I have downloaded ccleaner, and it works great! I also have Trend Micro Titanium for anti virus protection... I am not sure about malware or... bytes? LOL!! I will have to do some Googling! :) Thanks again for all your help!  :icon_rr:

Try your local Goodwill or Salvation Army, sometimes they have older computers for sale.  Or if you have a little spare cash you could build a barebones system off Newegg for about $200

*UPDATE*I accepted an offer for tech support today. I thought maybe they could help without my having to disclose anything regarding FC. He was a very big help actually. I learned a lot. Though he couldn't actually fix anything without my payment upfront... he did explain quite a bit to me regarding my HP pc. Apparently, My father has gifted my family with one heck of a machine! LOL:) Always nice to be informed of having ownership over something much more capable than initially thought to be. I wanted to also check in and say a big THANKS! You guys really had my back, I am pretty sure having your support is a priceless bonus:)  :icon_rr:

@MynameisMummy - The reason why your browser is slow is because you're using one of the worst internet browsers.  I use Google Chrome and it is a 100x better and faster.  It's just "simple" and best part is you don't have any tool bars that IE has (unless you install it yourself...but don't because that makes the browser lag).

Yes sometime I find the internet explorer too slow and have to switch to another browser. I use firefox mostly. But I'll try chrome to see if it's better or what. Thanks. :sad1:
