My sister and I would fight over the last banana.  She has one as a birthmark on her side.  I just love bananas and still do.  My sister in-laws and cousin in-law make banana pudding, one of my favorite desserts.

Yeah, the good ol' days... when video games were non-existent, no cell phones, no computers...  hanging with friends and actually DOING stuff together.  Now, kids just text each other and never go anywhere together.  What's with that??

My best "good old days" memories was of how the whole school Christmas vacation seemed to be one event after another.  I remember I used to always stay all night at my older sister's house and we would stay up all night baking Christmas goodies, cookies of all kinds, brownies, canoles, pecan logs, and many more all night long with Christmas music playing on the radio.  Then Christmas Eve would be at Grandma's, Christmas Day at home until dinner time, then back over to my sister's again for a holiday feast and all those desserts.
Now, I really have only one funny "bad" (but not even really bad) memory that we even still laugh about.  I remember after Thanksgiving one year, my mother was trying to use up all those leftovers and made "turkey tetrazini" for my nephew and me.  Oh, it was bad.  Nasty.  And, being from an Italian family, my mother was always an AMAZING, AMAZING cook.  That's why we still laugh about it.

Yep, tagging along with my granpa, i would hook my fingers in his belt and away we would go. I was little and he had long legs, so i seem to go everywhere at a dead run. But i miss my granda and all we would do. And all the stories he would tell as he would be carving another toy for another child. Oh yeah i got my fair share. But he loved giveing them away. I and all my friends still have them too. He was loved by all.

Without all of the technology life was simpler. Families spent time together. Camping etc. Nothing like the great outdoors.

I remember going to the dime store with my dad. We would go down the toy aisle, and he would set off all the toys that made noise, like the row of cymbal playing monkeys. While I was distracted watching the toys in delight, he would slip down to the end of the aisle, turn around and act like he had just come up. Like a stern parent, he would say, 'what're you doing, setting off all the toys like that??'

And then he'd laugh. It was the best.  :)

I remember going to the store as a child with 50 cents and coming home with a sack full of candy.  I remember Coca-Colas sold for 25 cents.  Today you are lucky if you get a small bag of candy for 50 cents.  Those memories remain in the back of your mind; savor them, because you will never see them again.

I remember those days.  When I would go visit my cousin we would walk about 3 blocks to the ice cream shop in the summer around 8 pm.  We were never scared and our parents were never worried.  Now years later there is no way I would walk those blocks in the day, much less at 8 pm.  Times have changed  :'(

When I lived on base in Albuquerque, New Mexico, one of my favorite memories was after a fresh rain, when the sun came out where I lived, I loved to put my feet in the algae and the runoff water. it was always sooo warm and squishy!!

I remember playing outside with my friends until it got dark and it was the best time ever. Playing with Transfomers (G1) was the bomb!

Such a simplier time...

Kids could play outside after dark...

So many things from back to our younger days... were so carefree and easy...
