Why is prayer important

As we all know life is what you make it, so try to get the knowledge and understanding of the simple things and the more complicated things will be easy to administer.  Look up these ares in the bible and they should give some insight of why prayer is important.

God commands us to pray (I Thessalonians 5: 17; Ephesians 6: 18); Prayer glorifies God (John 14: 13); Prayer prepares our hearts to obey and walk with Jesus.

Prayer benefits us.; Prayer builds intimacy with God.; God answers prayer (Acts 4: 23 –33; Matthew 9: 38); Prayer is both a privilege and a duty.[/b]

For one, God tells us in the bible to pray without ceasing and also to thank him and then make our petitions known to God.  But regardless if I didn't pray about my problems and ask God to help me I would just lose all hope.

To thank God because he does listen, I don't care what people say or believe, I know there is a God.  That's all I have to say and please don't let this start a "war", if you don't believe that's your choice, but let the people who do alone.

I think prayer gives us inner strength even if we don't believe in a god......it gives off an energy that can purge negative feelings and bring in positive feelings.....it may take a while for the positive feelings to set in, but it does work, at least it works for me.....

My youth paster once put it to me this way, and it has always stuck with me.
He said that once you get a best friend/boyfriend/girlfriend/whatever.. you'll always want to spend your time with them, yearning to get to know them more and more, and wanting to talk to them. He said that's how God wants us to be with us. God wants us to want to tell Him about our day, what we are worried about, and wants or needs for other people. The way we get to, is by prayer.

Prayer is important it allows us to talk and share our emotions and joy.  Our message is carried through the universe in which we receive guidance and direction.  Like some one else said its like talking to a best friend.  Put in positive and you get positive back.

Prayer helps us stay focused...especially when we have a boss/co-worker who is driving us up the wall.!
