So many threads being started in wrong forums
« on: March 07, 2013, 01:37:35 pm »
Not sure what can be done about the issue of new threads being started in the wrong forums.  I mean, really, when you start a new thread, it actually says in blue font "Please post in the correct board. Topics posted in the wrong board may be removed.  I have been an administrator and a moderator at many a message board and this drives me crazy here.  Just sayin'.

SOME times it is hard to decide where you have to put your post. I am a newbie and I havent posted that much because I still am unsure if I am putting it in the right place.  :dontknow: Where I am new at this I guess I need to learn and hopefully it wont take long. :BangHead:

This frustrates me quite a bit as well. I've flagged a few threads here and there, in the hopes that Admin would move them to the correct forum section (since it does say 'Topics posted in the wrong board may be removed') but Admin hasn't moved or removed any of them. I've decided to just ignore those threads and I don't bother reporting them anymore. If Admin isn't bothered by them....so be it! I've got more important things to worry about! Haha  :D
Yep, I've seen that "Flag this post for review" but haven't never clicked on it. Guess I won't, either, after reading your post!  LOL!

Wonder if FC needs mods???   Hmm???  Applying!

You're encouraged to use the 'report to moderators' function.  It is regularly reviewed by staff, although we can't guarantee that we'll agree / take action on every report.

Ok, thank you, Admin.  :)  And I read in another thread that you guys don't take mods from your current pool of users, so disregard my statement.  I just am so happy to be here that my happiness is spilling over!

I think they are more worried about SPAM posts and posts that contain personal email addresses or referral links. If they are looking for moderators, I would definitely apply as well lol. I highly doubt that the forum is monitored 24/7 and seems like only two people moderate it ('Kohler' and 'Administrator'). Wouldn't be a bad idea to 'hire' one or two members to help out as well. I'd do it for free.  :)
I'd do it for free as well!
