Our right to bear arms is our choice. It is in the constitution that noone can change. Our servicemen and woman have fought for rigths and freedom. We need to take our country back. This is an impeachable offense if obammer puts this into enactment. I do not own a gun. I do support our rights. By choice I dont have one. The way our government is going we are not even going to have freedom of speechs, relgion. We need to protect our rights. As far as the obama care goes people are realizing at all levels how they are getting screwed.

I did 27 years in the military and am for the right to bear arms.  However, I'm also in favor of background checks and limits on the number of bullets per magazine.  I'm all for the second amendment, but I'm also all for the right to life.

I agree with this. Nobody needs a 200-round magazine. 10-20 is fine. Then again, it really won't make too much of a difference if you can swap mags fast.

YOU ARE SO RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!... I just had to repeat this... Not because of what '6265AT99' had to say but what "Falconer02" says; "Nobody needs a 200-round magazine."... I don't know how many of you know and/or understand; How Easy it is to convert a semi-auto to a fully automatic... maybe a few hours, with a screwdriver, file, added springs & screws. (Well maybe not all that easy but of course with some know-how not all that hard)... I'm not gonna say a whole lot about this because it's Big-Time unlawful... I have never done anything like this but Yes I've seen it and have witnessed the after-product (out in the desert of West Texas)...
Now the reason why I'm adding my 2 cents to this thread is... If I have knowledge of this going on (It's well beyond the statute of limitations, so I'm not worried about getting busted), how hard do you think it would/will be for the "bad guys" to acquire the same skills needed to perform such a task... And...Really does it take a 10/20/30 mag. to bring down a deer

I'm sure alot of folks are gonna think the Second Amendment don't need-no messin' with, but do you think our forefathers thought we'd need a Mac-10 ?
What we need (my thoughts) are stricter gun Laws (like 5 years for illegal possession of a loaded firearm) along with better background checks (this would mean at-least a 15 day wait period)...Most of all; Law-Makers who are NOT in the pocket of gun lobbyists and/or the NRA... Please, don't get me wrong, the NRA has alot of good people (most of them) who are members...but the leadership (spelled money) are the one who are feeding the BS of taking away our rights...

thats what i preach  i do not want my right to make a decision for myself i get so tired of people trying to take away my right to do that  just because someone doesnt like this or that why do they think my rights should be removed I do not own a gun havee never owned a gun how ever when i was young i did take the hunters safety course i dont want my right to own one removed. I want to make that decision for myself

The main reason for the 2nd amendment was not for hunting; in fact it's a little insulting to suggest that the only lawful reason to own a gun is for hunting. The 2nd amendment was put in place as a means for the people to protect their other rights. Whether it is protecting their lives and possessions from someone breaking into their house, or even protecting their rights against a tyrannical government (like the colonialists did against the British monarchy during the Revolutionary period).

We are gun owners and my Husband is career active duty military. Im sorry but I cant take anyones opinion seriously who says things like "obummer" or "obammer" Its really unneccessary and does nothing to further your arguement. It makes the poster look childish and foolish.

Guns dont kill people do. They edical stability checks as well as the background checks

it always amazes me that every time something like a school shooting happens...people scream take the guns!  if they were to look, there are places like japan..that have few guns, that have people going in, killing kids with swords.  its not the weapons that are the problem.  its the lack of raising as children to teach them to respect weapons, to respect other people and themselves..the lack of discipline growing up to teach kids to be true adults.

I do believe in our rights.  I to don't have a gun but people need guns to hunt  with, I also know some people use it for protection, I could never shoot anyone but it the sercumstance where I was going to be killed then I would find a way to injure the person and than call for help.  This Obama thing with healthcare I think is wrong.  Not everyone can afford insurence and people are already having a hard time with everyday cost.  My son for instance him and his girlfriend was having a hard time with rent because they can only get part time jobs, so with rent, electric, groceries, gas, and car insurence.  Since they didn't have enough money to buy a used car they went to a used car dealer and have a car payment.  Now they moved in a Friend and her boyfriend to try and split the cost but she only has a part time job as well. Crap car insurence for young adults runs around $150 or more per month.  I just think the young adults trying to get on there own is being penalized by the government and now they want people to get health insuence how are they supose to afford that?  Life shouldn't be this hard for them.  I disagree with politions that is why I don't vote these people just tell us what we want to hear and once they get into office they change or don't do what they promised.  When the president spoke about changing the limits on Medicaid so that more people would qualify for the program.  I have not yet see that happen yet.
