Coupons
« on: February 21, 2013, 07:28:27 am »

I always cut out coupons and when ever I go shopping I seem to forget them at home. Or if I'm in the store, I forget them in the car (and me sometimes being lazy) I'd keep my receipt and the next time i'm in the store I take my receipt and the coupon to get my savings. Please don't tell me I'm the only one!! There's gotta be an easier way than cut/clip to save some change!

sign up for saving star. they load the coupons right to your account. My two local grocery stores also have a load to card option on their sites. Savings is automatically taken when you swipe your shoppers card.

If you have your mind set on using paper coupons you can use an accordion file that you can keep in your purse. I choose to have a binder with all my coupons. I do a lot of coupon shopping so it works for me.

I put coupons I think I'll use on my next trip in my billfold where I keep my debit card.  That way when I get my debit card out I see the coupons (most of the time).  There have been a few times when I'd be flustered at checkout and still forget to use them though so don't guess my way is foolproof but it does work most of the time for me.  If you pay by cash or check you could put your coupons where you keep your cash or in your checkbook.

I personally like the paper coupons I can print from the internet.  That way I can look through, see what coupons i would probably use, print them, cut them out and stick them in my purse.  That way when I am shopping, I can pull them out and be reminded of the things I can save on.

I almost never use them because I always forget to bring them to the store with me.

I have binders that are full of all my coupons and I take the binders right to the store with me. I have the binders organized by the different sections in the store. I hate clipping the coupons and putting them in the binders, but as long as I get it done as soon as I get the coupons, it's not too bad. It's when I get behind and have a stack of coupon inserts that it gets to be more difficult. I sort the coupons by expiration date in the different sections also. That way I don't have to go back through all the coupons to look for expired ones.

I've seen gals with the binders in the stores.  That's just too much work for me.  lol  I have a little plastic box that a gal made for me a while back from a refunding message board, and it has a lid that snaps shut.  Anyway, I carry it with me to the store and it fits perfectly in the front part of the cart where you put your purse (or small child!).

I'm still clipping/printing coupons  as I like to see which ones I have (and how many of each) and have been very successful in my savings at the store.  Like recently, NatureMade vitamins were on sale at the grocery and the drug store (two separate times), and I had Internet-printed coupons as well as Sunday-supplement coupons, and I basically saved well over half each time.  Loved it!

I know there are services that load coupons to your store rewards cards, but I have 2-3 stores that I shop at and I don't know what's on sale at any given time unless I look at the store's ad that came in the mail.  I just sit at the table and look at the ad and compare the prices with my coupons to decide which store to visit.

I used two coupons today but I rarely use them because they are usually for stuff I don't buy.

My dad & I use coupons, too, and save a lot of money. :)
Opinion: 1) a view, judgment, or appraisal formed in the mind about a particular matter 2) belief stronger than impression and less strong than positive knowledge
This is the internet, learn to let people have opinions. And don't be so sensitive.  8)

We don't use as many as we should. We do use some, it makes a difference on the bill!
