I don't think people should smoke anywhere!

With all the information available today, I can't imagine why they would want to.  :BangHead:

I can tell you one thing, my quitting is what let me outlive both of my younger siblings.  :angel11:
Be careful I quit to, but I dont complain about other.  I think by making the government make rules for us all the time we are losing our own freedom.

I smoked in high school and for a few years afterwards. Typically does not bother me to be around people smoking and sometimes like the smell.
I've tried to smoke a few times since though thinking I might enjoy one but it makes me sick each time and reminds me of the first time I tried it.

Where I live you can't smoke in public spaces.  Yes I am a smoker and it doesn't bother me to have to wait for a cig.  I also use an e-cig when I am around people that don't smoke.

Smoking should be outside in designated places.Families don't want to take their kids to restaurants having them cough or go home and smell of smoke.

Definitely no smoking where I'm eating.  Smoking doesn't do a body good.

Old Buddy is right. As an ex myself, I can attest to the fact that smoking destroys every part of the body.

I have to agree with you smoking does ruin the individuals smoking as well as the individuals
that come in contact with the second hand smoke.
I have three daughters that do not smoke , but my both my sons smoke.
It a bad habit and I am trying to stop.

Deanna

I also smoked for about 10 years, but when I asked the Lord into my heart, I just didn't feel right about doing it.  I asked Him for help to quit and it wasn't real easy, but I am so thankful that I quit when I was 27.  Sure I was tempted after, but stuck to my beliefs and made it through.  I thank God for giving me the courage and the determination to quit.

do you think people should or shouldnt smoke in fast food places

No, I don't think people should smoke in any enclosed building as it forces everyone else to inhale the smoke too.  Even when I was a smoker, I felt nauseated by the heavy smell of smoke in places when it was legal to do so and was so glad when it was banned.

It doesn't "force" everyone else to inhale the smoke. If you don't want to inhale the smoke then you have the right to simply leave. It should be up to the owner of the property to determine whether or not they allow people to smoke and not the government. Places like restaurants are not public buildings, they are privately owned by individuals. If you hate cigarette smoke (as I do) then the simply avoid places that allow it and looks for places that ban it and take your business there.

I agree with you that the choice should have been up to the owners of the buildings or businesses and not the government. With enough consumer pressure it could have been possible that many establishments would have voluntarily gone smoke free indoors and still make some type of provision for their smoking customers as well. That aside, when permitted inside an establishment, everyone there is "forced" to inhale the smoke. That might include young children and  people who have health issues that cannot physically handle smoke.   I remember the days when people smoked inside grocery stores and hospitals, government buildings and places where the average person couldn't simply find another place to take their business. It was a big problem back then as it was allowed everywhere.

I used to be a smoker and now that I have not smoked in 7 years, it is hard to be around others that smoke.  My breathing gets bad and my husband is like wow and you used to be in that group now it is a problem.  Smoking is bad for your health in the long run and for some people it hits them sooner and I have witness that by many in my life.  Everyone has a choice and no one can make them change or choose they have to want it at the end of the day.

Good for you, Old Buddy. I'm proud of you. Anyone can quit smoking if they REALLY want to stop. I personally don't know how people even afford to smoke. And I also don't understand why they want to have that SMELL. :confused1:
