Are You A First Time Home Buyer
« on: May 08, 2009, 08:18:38 pm »
Ok I am just curiouse if any one on here is a first time home buyer or is getting ready to buy there first home.  I Have been watching the price of realestate up here in Rhode Island and there are some great programs for first time home buyers.  RIhousing has a program that helps youw with mortgage assistance and ever part of buying your first home.

Here is a link that every one who is interested in buying ther first home can use it is so they can find there HUD Office in ther state and find out what home ownership programs there state offers.

http://www.hud.gov/local/index.cfm

My question is if you are a first time home buyer or are about to become one.  Have you been watching the price of homes in your area and what kinds of programs does your state offer?

i would love to buy a home right now due to the cost of houses, but just don't have the means to do so. if i were to do it right now, i'd be doing it with no money down, and no matter how good the market is, i'm just not comfortable with that. i live in vegas, and we're supposedly #1 in the country for foreclosures...go down a street, and every other house is bank owned. they're definitely doing what they can to sell around here. if i were in a better situation financially, i'd jump on it, but it's just not the right time for me. sadly, i'm afraid that when i finally am ready, the economy will have corrected itself, and it'll once again cost an arm and a leg and your soul to afford a house :(

Up here in Rhode Island we also have a big problem with Forclosed homes.  However there are some great programs that the Governmet offers up here so you don't even need any money to put down on a house.  This is the link to your state Hud Office and it will have wonderfull insites you can use to really think about buying your first home.

YOu actualy can own a house and pay very little permonth on your mortgage.  I have seen some 3 bed room homes up here in Rhode Island going for like 50,000 that is like a $200 or $300 dollar payment per month for the mortgage.  However these homes allso are all foreclosed homes.  Up here in RI ther is a program for those who buy forclosed homes to get grants so that they can fix those houses up and be able to live in them.

You really should check with your local HUD to see what kinds of programs they have for first time home buyers.  There are so many programs were you don't even need to have any money to buy a house.

Here is your link to HUD in CA  http://www.hud.gov/local/index.cfm?state=ca

Ok for those of you who think I amy be tring to sell some thing I'm not I am just giving some good advice that I stumbled on.  I am not a realestate agent or any thing I am just a regular person like you.  I also don't have much to my name and want to own a house one day.  So I did some reserch and I found out that ther eare so many government programs that help people like you and me.  So I just want to share some of the information to those who are looking to buy ther first home just like I am now that the prices of homes are so low. Every state has an affordable housing link were you can get information and I will gladly help you all find the right link for you.
