I think that life, itself, has so much to teach all of us.  I believe that if I had chosen to have my kids tour the world with me from grade five through ten that they would have been far more educated then kids who had been confined to a class room.  So much emphasis is placed on getting an education and not enough on using it.  I had a double bachelors and the only time that it came in handy was when a bank asked to see a copy of my degree. Really? Bachelor's degrees are great for making connections that may get you into a better job. Post graduate helps hone and put your focus into play so that you actually utilize your education.  There are plenty of people out there that are cutting lawns/selling snacks that don't have a degree and are far happier then me...currently working between 80-100 hours per week.

Way to go....we can always learn something new, I have been considering doing the same thing, just not sure what I wanna do these days....I get bored on the same job for to long, and when I have learned all I can learn and there is no room to grow I really get impatient....good luck...

I don't think I can go back to school. I had my fill of that.

I had been to a couple of trade schools while I was in Chicago. Yet I am in school right now, and I am 54.  I am majoring in Accounting and minoring in Information Systems, so if one fails to get me a good job, I will have other options. :D ;D

Congratulations!  I don't really know, but I have heard that a lot of older people who return for their education just naturally do better in college as they tend to take it more seriously than those coming in from high school.  Great job on that 4.0!  Dean's list is a major accomplishment!  Keep it up.

Good for you. It takes ambition to get back to school and learn something new. In my profession it would pay to have a degree but I have worked my way up through the ranks and now teach the ones that have a degree.

I went back to school only a few years after I got my Associate of Arts two year degree. I am considered an average student.
I had a lofty idea that I could be a nutritionist. I quit because it was a rerun of how I struggled before in college. I didn't have the "scientific" mind for it. Math and science courses were not my strong suit.
I also remember taking two jobs in insurance, also not successful. I sure liked meeting the people in the midst of those "mistakes".
I find that I learn something every day just researching topics on the computer. Something comes up that I wonder about.
