Years ago I was stopped by a very young officer who said I was stopped because my tag light was out. I was given a warning but the car did not even have a spot for a tag light.

I did not know that but like someone said, I keep nothing in my car that I wouldn't want the cops to see.

No, they don't. They could choose to arrest you, impound the car, then search it.  Also, during every stop they can search the passenger compartment for weapons for their own safety.
You are completely right. If you are stopped for Driving While Intoxicated or DUI and refuse to take a breath-alyzer, they now want to take a blood sample. That way they get around the refusal part of that test. Either way, sometimes it just is futile to fight the LAW. If you are right, there are video dashboard cameras on squad cars to prove points and refusing to cooperate only gives them more reason to arrest you. DON'T Give them a reason. Hasn't it always been guilty until proven innocent!

you also have to be carefull of the way you state things to him you dont want to state for example was i speeding you have to say why did you pull me over, if you get out of car lock the door before you close it   they cant make you open it  research it  and you will have a better understanding

Yes, they can usually fall back on probable cause to search your car. It's so unfair.

Police have their own rules, and we are not exempt from them making their quota for the day. :star:

Not true, all they need is probable cause.  If you're pulled over for driving erratically, but they smell booze in the car when they come over, that's probable cause to search the car for it and perform a breathalyzer on you.
