living with parents

I have yet to move out. I live with my mother and I wouldn't have it any other way. We have separate living spaces as I live in a bachelor in the basement that is fully furnished. I live with my fiance and my mother is upstairs with my grandmother. It works out really well for all of us. The expenses of the phones, cable, internet are shared as are the house payments. It's easier to have dinners together and we get to see each other every day! When my mother or grandmother need assistance of any kind I'm right there. I don't have to worry about them and it works both ways. They both have a lot of doctors appt's also which is convenient for me to accompany them. Every family is different but this works out best for me and my family.

How many of u have had to live with your parents when you hit hard times

Thank goodness I never did but I know lots of people this has happened to and it's really hard to "move in" with mom and dad once you've been on your own for a while.  Sadly, that is like taking a step back rather than forward.  But, when you have no alternative, I guess it's best to say Thank God we all have parents!!!!!!

It's now been almost five years since the last time that I lived with my mother. You see, my husband and I and our daughter lived with her when we were a young couple. However, five years ago today we closed on our first house and we've been living on our own ever since.
Living with my mother was something that worked out well for us, but it is also something that I don't think would work out for everyone. My mother and I have always had a really good relationship, so I was able to live with her. However for those people that don't have a really good relationship with their parents, I don't think that they would be able to live with them.
