My biggest gripe is cell phones in a public place, e.g. eating places.  It seems as though they talk louder than normal and who wants to be in on a private conversation.  I think it's disgusting!  If you do get a phone call, get up and go somewhere else to talk, please!

How about when you are in a public place with your young children and an adult nearby is cussing while in conversation with others.  I mean, really!  Show some politeness for innocent ears!

For me I hate when people stare. It drives me crazy, I rather you say what's on your mind then to just stare. I also get annoyed when people hold loud conversations, cough without covering their mouth etc..

i hate people that are rude. especially when i'm standing in line and someone cuts in front of you. also, when someone gets on my way when im shopping and trying to get something on one of the shelf.

People who have a cause to promote and try to fit in to conversations.
 
For example. I was talking about my mom and the apple pie, she made for Thanksgiving. There was a group of us discussing our Thanksgiving on our break. When I finished one co-worker said, "Wow, imagine the germs that would create." I hope she washed the apples first and used a plastic cutting board." Before I had a chance to respond the other co-workers were not afraid to show there annoyance. It nearly came to blows as the first co-worker didn't have the good sense to drop the subject.

Another co-worker was quite upset he didn't get 40 hours. He did get the most hours out of all of us, but was heard saying "This another example of the black man being discriminated against. If I was white or Hispanic, I would get 40 hours." When people tried to point they were not black and got even less hours then he did, they were racists.

People who make blanket statements, especially when they have limited experience with the situation. "Our pastor ALWAYS speaks too long, he should used a timer." Have you been going to that church long? "Yes, about two weeks"

People who give an opinion or correct others when they conversation didn't include them and they have no idea what they are talking about. I was at Dennys the other day, and asked a waitress, if a new dish was spicy. she said "Yes, it was a spicy, but not too bad." A customer at the next booth corrected her and said it was extremely spicy. I asked him how did you have it prepared, (as there were different options you could have with it.) He replied, "I have never eaten it, but you can tell it is extremely spicy."

Stupid people who ask stupid questions.... (There are stupid questions and stupid people)

When I hold the door for people, they could at least say thank you, or nod their head.. When they don't say anything, I yell out you are welcome..

And the other is people merging into traffic, either slow down and let them in.. Not the proper thing to do.. or switch lanes, or speed up.. and if someone lets you change lanes in front of them, or lets you pull out in traffic.. wave thank you.. It's only polite..

About holding the door, I held the door open for a woman once who was coming in behind me, and she said, I can get the #$%&@! door myself, I am not handicapped. To which I replied, "well, at least not physically" People in her party laughed as well as other people nearby.

Wow. You guys are comprehensive. You covered some things I didn't even know annoyed me until I saw it listed. Other people's cell phone conversations, people who let their children text while completely ignoring the live people they are with and people who block parking lots while waiting for a parking spot just so they can walk 15 feet less - those are my biggies.

My biggest peeve is when someone has a cold or flu and instead of blowing their noses, they do that pig snorting thing in the back of their throats! It sounds disgusting and makes my hair stand on end. I once offered a woman some paper tissues to blow her nose instead of snorting.....she thanked me for the tissues, shoved it into her bra and carried on snorting!!

I'm sorry, but I've tried to straighten my walk all my adult life and it hasn't worked.  It's not something that people choose to do, it's a medical condition.  You're going to have to live with it, we do.

I agree this is a good topic as we all have much to say on it.  I agree/share many of the things already mentioned.  Here's a few of mine that haven't been covered.

Clerks who talk so loud they announce your personal business to everyone in the area.   

People talking on their cell phones while driving.   

Clerks who ignore my words and my reusable tote bag and use a plastic bag anyway.  Then they remove the plastic bag, crumple it up and throw it away so it can live forever in the landfill or ocean.  (This even happens at stores who sell reusable bags.)   

Middle schoolers who haven't been taught to respect other adults besides their parents.   

People who let their animals run loose around the neighborhood or worse yet abandon them when they move.
