I'm a website editor so it's something that has become a habit. I usually strive for perfection anyway and like to do most things to the best of my ability.

I usually try to spell correctly, but I hate that now if I am not typing on my phone I automatically assume the computer is going to capitalize my Is and proper nouns. Or that a misspelled word is magically going to correct itself. It's funny how fast you can become lazy and used to something else doing the work for you.

Yes, always. I think most people who leave their posts laden with errors must not have been paying attention in elementary school English class.

It depends where and who am I writing to, but for the most part, I try to be the most grammatically correct I can be; granted it might not be correct all the time. Sometimes, persons who give a good effort to try and make good use of punctuation, grammar and such, may be perceived as pretentious, when in reality they are just trying to express themselves correctly. That is not to say that there aren't pretentious people trying to appear to be better than the rest, and there is where the confusion arises. Personally, I try to detect the tone of the writing, if it seems to me, the is some overly and unnecessary use of a patronizing or condescending tone, then it might just be somebody trying to belittle people, or just somebody with a false sense of grandiosity. Well, I think I'm going off topic a little bit here, but to summarize, in terms of typing (not texting), I almost always try to do it as properly as I can.

I learned to type in school before computers were popular. So it is something I try not to make mistakes with, but I still do.

I try to. It is a good habit to get into even if it does slow me down.

Do you bother typing correctly, correcting mistakes, using caps when appropriate, grammar, etc. when posting online (blogs, survey forums, social networking)? I sort of see it as an extension of texting and dont always. If it was a term paper i would definately approach it differently.
I always try to correct my spelling and spaces between words. Most of the time I reread before posting and make sure it makes before I hit the button. I believe that people will just think I am not too smart if I leave a bunch of spelling errors and write something that does not make sense, or leave words out that they have to decipher. I always try to do my best in everything, even if it takes a little more time.

I am not too bad at typing on a computer. As for on a cell forget it. I cant even do speech to text. Some of the things come off of that are hilarious.

When I am typing, I try to use correct  grammar, spelling and punctuation.  Without using correct English, when I type, it makes it slows down the reader and makes it difficult to understand what I have written.

I was a secretary for several years so just by nature, I always try to type correctly and correct any mistakes before posting.

Please forgive me, I'm not trying to be pretentious and/or trying to appear better than anyone else...but (yeppers; always a but...lol)... It really does bug me when I read a post/thread with NO punctuation and misuse of grammar...[Not that mine is the best] I have told myself  "they are from another country"... Then-again in the short time I've been here (around 6 months), I have gotten to know some (if not most) of us are here in the Good-Ol-USA...
It drives me crazy-coo-coo when I try to understand what the person is saying; Like "i thought i'd post on  here just so as to put youcan understand what is i'm saying"... Sure, We can understand this but (again dang-it) I need to read it 3 (sometimes 4) times to fully comprehend.
Sorry if this has put you to

To those of you that have gotten to know me... Know I like my pictures & icons.

Later

Well, for me this is an interesting subject.  Especially as to why it bugs some people that the typing or the wording is not correct. I just love the fact that whomever it is, that is not typing correctly and without the right grammar does not lead you to not accepting human nature, ignorance, and or people that or just learning. This is a great world and forumand not usig correction putncioan marks, makes me think this is  happy that wer a rar happy, so ther. Well I have had my fun, have yours reading and correcitn my grammar and punciton marks.  I need an a to or is that an A to graduate. And yes, some people are a little should I say pompus, or is that poumpus. or full of them selves

Yes, I always do. Sure, I have typo's every now and again, but I do use my education, anywhere. I think it is important to show yourself in your best light. You know what they say... If you don't use it, you lose it! LOL:)  :icon_rr:
