« on: January 29, 2013, 05:35:07 am »
So if most of you remember the movie my Greek wedding and the story of Windex....well it really works I washed my face with Windex strange I know but my face is so smooth it's like I put a bottle of lotion on it or something but wow it worked.  I had a small pimple and it's really gone I was shocked.

I wouldn't do that if I were you - too many chemicals to be using on the skin.

I agree with the previous poster, it is too harsh to use one skin, but my guess is that the reason it works for so many things is the alcohol which is in most cleaning products including a lot of acne products.  It is pretty drying, so it makes a lot of people's skin too dry.

I've never heard of this, but as one of the previous members mentioned....there are so many chemicals in the cleaning stuff....! I didn't use gloves to do the cleaning and my hands and skin started burning from all the chemicals - I now use gloves!!!! Maybe for pimples one can use it once to zap the zit !!  ;D

You guys are crazy my skin isn't dry and I clean for a living and chemicals have been on me like you wouldn't imagine that's why I use dove body wash it doesn't bother my skin at all.  My question to those of you who mentioned dry skin or alcohol tell me this why do you use rubbing alcohol to clean your ears for earrings or how about this a better one all those facial scrubs that contain alcohol and other harmful chemicals that make your face burn when using them those too can cause dry skin and it's really no different then using windex it's all the same to me.

I believe you, but I will not use it on me or anybody on my family.  I do not use alcohol either, once in a whole I might use stringent but that is very rare.  Thank God my family does not suffer from more that the sporadic pimple, not even my teenage girls.  But to each it's own, if you like it then gofor it.

Well it's not the craziest thing I've ever heard of trying.  I don't think I could do it myself....maybe dab a bit on a breakout but I don't think I could bring myself to washing my face with it.  The alcohol content in it is rather strong.  In fact I ran out of Windex and I've been wiping things down with rubbing alcohol.  Same results and it makes good use for the rubbing alcohol after it's expired.  I just learned on the doctors that alcohol and peroxide have expiration dates.  Now a friend of mine in high school had a pimple right before prom.  The night before she soaked a cotton ball in alcohol and band-aided it over her pimple.  Right in the middle of her forehead.  She slept with it on and you guessed it, when she woke up she had a chemical burn.  Pimple was gone though.

This is my first time hearing of using windex as a face wash, but all I can say is be careful using it on the skin like the others have said, if it works for you then its fine. I don't think I would use it like that though

Windex??!?!  You do realize that your skin is the largest organ on your body.  It ABSORBS whatever you put on it.  At the very least, I hope you used the Windex WITHOUT "ammonia."

I would never dare to put 'Windex' on my face, and with my dry skin, I am very careful on what I am putting on my face.
