Everybody doesn't do their taxes early, stop generalizing.  If they stop and think, they should realize that their taxes doesn't get any earlier thereby you receiving their refund earlier.

I find it a little amusing that people will have too much withheld throughout the year and then try to rush get their tax returns done right away so that they can get their money back. Crazy though, have less withheld so that you can use the money during the year instead of giving the government an interest free loan.

Well considering the latest fund raising fiascos and fiscal cliffs of the federal budgets folks.  I would have to guess that most folks are trying to make sure they get their money back before the government goes broke or bankrupt.   Now that is something to think about.  What would you do if you were the bankruptcy judge overseaing the debt of the federal government.

I started doing it early when our daughter went to college, now, hubby dear wants me to do it early in the hopes that we'll be getting $$$ back... I told him I'd have it done by the end of Feb.

It is hard to judge how much to have them take out during the year, to avoid having to pay. Plus people like to get that lump sum. I try to do my taxes early so I don't have to worry about them. Otherwise I'd probably forget, and I'd be rushing around trying to beat the deadline, or i'd end up missing the deadline and having to pay a penalty.

Most ppl really need their money since times are so hard. I like to do mines early to get it out the way and because I am one of those who really needs it as well. I dont think it should really matter how soon ppl do them as long as they are not breaking any laws and doing thm right thats all that matters

Alot of people are going their taxes early because they really need the money and have plans for what they want to do with it.  But, many people do not know the changes that the IRS has made which will cause alot of people to get their money back later than expected.

I did mine January 18th and I received my money yesterday!  I use turbo tax
