why is everyone doing taxes early

My husband and I have already filed ours. Hopefully today or tomorrow we will hear from H&R Block to pick up our paperwork. I hate the new rule of the IRS not accepting any returns until January 30th? My husband got his W-2 super-early this year and we had to wait 2 weeks for our other paper work. I just hope we get our tax return withing the next 3 weeks because I could really use the money on bills which sucks. Hoping to buy a treadmill and a new pair of shoes for the whole family at least.

You do it early so you can get your money asap!

Times are hard and people need their money so they file early to have a better chance of getting it back early!!!

Probably to get their return early. This should be my first year not to owe taxes in 3 years!!I did up my amount of taxes taken out last year!

The earlier you file the quicker you get your money.  I've always filed early and gotten my money in about a month.

If your getting a refund you'll probably want to do your taxes early, but if your paying taxes you'll probably do them the last couple of weeks before their due.

  my big sis does my taxes for me & usually she & wait the last minute to do taxes. This week she says give her all my tax forms, she wants to finish early. Why early?

I try to do my taxes early each year....don't like to wait last minute.  Try to get all the paperwork together by mid Feb at least...depends on when 1099 comes in so my accountant can get in to IRS.

It is always better to get an unpleasant chore out of the way as soon as possible.  I keep a large manila envelope labeled "Taxes" for storing information and documents as they arrive in the mail or as I list certain items needed for filling out the forms.  That way it is all in one place and makes it much easier.  I also keep an Excel file with related information throughout the year.

Last time I new you could not do the taxes early this year because of the fisical clif.

I always do mine as early as possible just to get it out of the way!  Did mine last weekend and I'll be getting a sweet $600 coming back to papa!

I still have not got my taxes filled out.   I still like 2 w2 forms that have not come in yet.  Hope they do soon.  I need the income tax check to help pay my property taxes.  Hope everyone has a good day and may God bless each of you and keep you safe.  Have a safe weekend.
