I have no problem with it being lipsynced, however with what I have a big problem is being deceiving. I don't mind somebody singing a previously taped song, as long as they tell me upfront, "hey this is not a live singing", so in all honesty I'm being made aware of the situation, and I can enjoy it for what it is.

Not trying to go off topic here, just want to provide you with a little example of how I feel about Beyonce. Take the IMAX gimmick for example, true IMAX 70mm theaters are very few and far in between, and the industry tries to deceive you into paying the same price for the so called "IMAX experience" or "IMAX Digital" theaters, which are not true IMAX 70mm theaters, but a huge percentage of people is decieved into thinking they are. Truth to be told, some people never find out they have been deceived, and never will, and they thoroughly enjoyed the movie as if they really experience the real thing, but that doesn't change the fact that they have indeed been lied to.

I feel the same way about the lipsync thing. Just make a disclosure in the fine print at the beginning of the broadcast and you are good to go. Do not go the deceit route.

People expect a star like Beyonce to sing.  Maybe there was a problem.  I see no problem with it.  She is a great singer.

I watched Beyonnce' at the Presidential Inauguration for Mr. Obama and I, personally, could not tell that she was lip singing. She did all the face changes and low and high pitched notes as if she was actually performing them. If by chance she was lip singing KUDOS to her because she did a great job. Hadn't someone from the military band said anything I don't believe people would have known the difference. So I give her a  just for performing the best and most realistic lip singing I have ever seen.

Right. It's the deception that makes the act a problem. It seems like the feeling was no one will know. Not too smart in this age of enlightenment. People find out everything, so better to be upfront about everything from the get-go.

Some of you might remember the the downfall of Milli Vanilli over lip syncing. One of those guys later commited suicide because his life was trashed career-wise. Not being able to get work was the end for him.

Not that Beyonce would ever lose her already well established career over this one faux pas. I'm making the point how negative and destructive deception can be.

i agree it doesn't matter to me either whether she did it live or not --she is so pretty and it was a beautiful version of the song--some people just need something to complain about 24/7 or they are not happy

I guess its no big deal but why did she have to do it, she has a great voice.
